This is a ledge grab addon for Brutal Doom. Unlike previous similar addons, this was based off of IvoryDuke's zmovement mod.
I originally created this for Dox778's addon, but decided to make it an addon for easy modding in the future. Now, you can incorporate it into your mod if you want. Just remember to credit the right people. IvoryDuke for the original code, Dox for sprites, and me for making it work as it does now.
For people who want to use this mod as is, do not use any addon/mod that messes with the default weapon base, or the default player code. There will probably be an error. Also, this is gzdoom only as it uses zscript.

- forgot to take the rev missiles into account. They now stay visible when ledge climbing.

nope, the ledge grab uses zscript (which zandronum doesn't have) so unfortunately no
There is an addon similar to this that works with Zandronum so I think that addon beats this in terms of compatibility. Link to the ledgegrab addon I was talking about: Moddb.com
I know about that addon, but I didn't like it. It was too stiff and not much to be done about it.

Would it be possible to make this addon compatible with your BD Screen Effects? When I try to load them together, the ledge grab doesn't work.
You need to learn to How to merge DECORATE and zScript code.
In coop game goes out of sync when ledgegrabbing, could you please make it compatible with gzdoom coop?

I have no idea how to do that, since I don't work with multiplayer. But like I said, it edits the base player class, so anything that modifies that, is almost certainly breaking something
Very buggy mod. Lots of weapons cause your entire inventory to disappear when you try to climb the ledge, effectively breaking your game until you reload the save file. I tried playing this mod with two specific brutal doom builds,
Vanilla BD with ProfessorExistential's Tomtefars+EWM+ManofHell V 4.0 mod which is https://www.moddb.com/mods/brutal-doom/addons/profexistentials-tomtefarsewmmanofhell . And another attempt was playing purely with the latest version of Tomtefar's extension.
In the case of the first build (professorexistential's mod), lots of weapons allow you to climb ledges correctly, but quite a lot of weapons tend to break your game. Those weapons are revolver, dual revolvers, spider mastermind autocannon, M32 grenade launcher, railgun, BFG 9000, M4 shotgun. Yeah that's quite a lot.
On the other hand, in Tomtefar's extension climbing ledges breaks the game with ALL THE WEAPONS. Every single one of them.
And these are not some obscure, unpopular BD forks either. These are one of the most popular BD mods on this website. Very inconsiderate of you to not provide properly debugged variants for specific brutal doom forks. Not good.
I'm giving 6/10 purely for effort and nothing more than that at its current state. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this mod to anyone that wants to play anything else other than vanilla BD v21.
It is very clearly stated in the description that this does not work with BD addons that mess with Player.txt or DefaultWeapon.txt, which both addons you mentioned do change, hence the possible incompabilities and errors.
Despite that, you still loaded them together and expected it to work perfectly fine. So that's on you.
Why does it matter than they are "the most popular" addons for BD? That doesn't mean Mechanical will now make versions for every single brutal doom addon possible - even if he did, you'd probably still end up messing it up, judging by how you like to load incompatible files with eachother.
Everyone would appreciate if you stopped loading files to explicitly not be loaded together and expect miracles - instead what you could do is learn how to mod and make them work together yourself.

I have wrote in the readme that this will not work with other mods that change the player file, so the rest would be up to you. I have read other comments that you have made, and noticed a consistent pattern of entitlement. This was something I just whipped up because it was fun. It is not my job to maintain it, nor is it the job of other modders to follow your every whim. I won't be using it however. I've decided to play with the most "up to date" version of BrutalDoom, which is technically BDExpansion (v21.11.1)
I'd say it would be great if this were compatible with it, but regardless...obviously the "mainstream" Brutal Doom is, and has been for a long time now, v20.
And it works like a charm for v20 BrutalDoom.
Although I will be playing with v21.11.1, I still wanted to drop in and say I really liked this mod and thank you for making it for v20!

Got it sort of working for Barge's M50/M55 weapon back by converting them to use BrutalWeapon, but the UAC Survival Kit modpack is a no-go even after conversion. Perhaps something to do with its select animations (or rather the pack's lack thereof)?
EDIT: Something to do with what the currently held weapon uses as the Ready3 state. It matches up, Barge's snipers use Ready3 as the Zoomed in state, (M55Z A 1, A_ZoomFactor (8.0), that stuff.)
