Description

The vanilla tactical flashlight sucks, and the headlamp is overpowered. This mod fixes that and gives you a reason to keep the flashlight around.

awesome, i like the nerfed headlamp but i think the flashlight is a little bit too much overpowered

i think that should light far to the second stalker max and a little bit behind him (like how's now with the third stalker)

How many lumens would you rate the vanilla flashlight? 100?

I'd say 250. To be honest it's basically an arbitrary guess, but I'd use that for comparison for judging the power of the flashlights.

yea headlamp must have some differences otherwise no one would use the flashlight

Hi , how to modify the headlamp ?

Reply Good karma Bad karma+1 vote

The headlamp settings are in item_devices.ltx under "torch". What are you trying to do so I can be more specific

I'm a bit busy, if I have the time I will do so - in the meantime if you edit line 3 and 4, "range" and "range_r2", inside configs/models/objects/light_night.ltx you can adjust it to achieve your desired effect. A range of 50 (it's in meters) should put you at the 1000 lumen handheld flashlight.

Any way to get this to work with U4H8 version?

Yes - I just need to dig up the U4H8 .ltx files and I'll drop it.

Sounds painful mate.
Thanks for that but I loaded it up (1000 lumen version) with Generic Mode Enabler and It hasn't changed the range for my headlamp. Is there any config I need to alter?

So I actually nerfed the headlamp slightly in this mod as per the description - if you prefer a brighter headlamp and not just a brighter flashlight, I recommend you edit line 3 and 4, "range" and "range_r2", inside configs/models/objects/light_night.ltx. A range of 50 (it's in meters) should put you at the same brightness as the 1000 lumen handheld flashlight.

Glad to hear! There's all kinds of other settings in there you can tweak too, like color, the angle of the cone, etc. Play around with them and when you're happy with how it all turns out you can release a Galahad's Flashlights mod :)

Once you buy a good 1000 lumen light, there's no going back to "normal" lights, especially in video games. Thanks for the addon!

Now I'm getting ideas for a fun little project adding in multiple newer flashlights with different models and beamshots.

You're right about that - making newer flashlights sounds like a great idea - the modding-discussions tab on discord can help you learn how to set that up.

this has a conflict with POSITION AND VIEW by Cement

Probably because he's changing position of flashlight. I'll take a look and drop a patch since Cement's is a commonly used mod

Do you know how to set back the headlamp's old turning delay like the old stalker games? i mean that when you turn the headlamp does a little while to turn too

I have a vague idea of what you mean, but I haven't gotten far enough into how animations work to understand how to implement this.

If I manage to turn this into a .script instead of editing .ltx files then it would be a nice addition, as I'll be learning how to do such a thing with the new features I'm currently implementing into NVG mod.
