What is this?
This is a simple moddification for Brutal Doom v21 where I've added an option for players to select between toggle or hold for weapons ADS mode. (ADS = aim down sights)
What does that mean you ask?
Simply put, you can choose how you want the weapons ADS to behave when you use secondary fire:
Press secondary fire to enter ADS. Press it again to leave ADS.
Press and hold secondary fire to enter ADS. Release secondary fire to leave ADS.
Change the new variable "bd_adsmode" in the console to change modes:
bd_adsmode 0 for toggle
bd_adsmode 1 for hold
How to install.
If you have not modifyed BDv21 in any way, you can simply just extract brutalv21.pk3 and replace your version of the mod with it. Just launch the game and change the new variable "bd_adsmode" in the console to select your preffered mode:
bd_adsmode 0 for toggle
bd_adsmode 1 for hold
If you are using a modded version of BDv21:
Open your version in Slade3 or Winrar and import everything in the "files folder", replacing the original files. In the ACS directory you first need to remove both files named "COMMANDS" and then import the new one.
Hopefully everything should now work, if your modded version has not already changed these files ofc. Then you need to dig deeper and just import the new lines in the code. Search for //ADS mod and you'll find them.

Nope, I made my own scripts for this one that's based on how the ADS-mode works for my main mod.
does not work with Call of Doom (a lament = /)

I've been looking for this, I thought there were it present in the settings already. also why is the file literally the same size as the mod itself

Yeah, my description was not quite right. There should be no equal sign when typing in the console:
bd_adsmode 0 for toggle
bd_adsmode 1 for hold
