2D ACOGs for default Anomaly weapons. Updated few other scopes.
FOR 1.5.0 update4 hotfix8
overwrites weapon .ltx files, so it's not compatible with any weapon mods without a merge
Changes ACOG scopes to use overlay as all the other scopes in the game instead of 3D weapon model.
Does not touch anything else. (probably)
Update: L85 and AUG scopes will use 2D texture.
Please tell if I missed any weapon.

get that shot into your eye and you'll be in the hospital faster then a bullet
great thanks
Could this be used with a texture replacer to improve the resolution of the scope textures so it's not a blurry mess. I use scopes revision atm but I don't think that would work since it edits the 3D version of the scops.
Yeah, it uses unused textures from database, if you replace them with hi res it will all work.
Sick Thanks i've been wanting someone to do this for a while since the 3d scopes are just ineffective compared to the 2d ones due to the models shaking everywhere. This will fix that until the nextt major update since rezy has made his own fix to 3d scopes.
Now that's a mod I've been looking for all the time. Thank you!
Before this mod I avoided using weapons with Acog, because it had some sort of semi-transparent dirt on it, which made itself visible only with night vision and in bright areas, making it nigh-unusable for me. I play with Dx8, mind you.
This made my gameplay way better.
Same here. The ACOG was terrible even though the weapons that use it are pretty cool.

Talking to Skinflint instantly crashes the game:

could be some other mod interfering, this will not be compatible with any mod that overwrites any of weapon configs.
There is no wpn_l85a, there is wpn_l85, wpn_l85a2 etc.
instead of overwriting wtih this try just editing your .ltx with
scope_status = 1 (0 for 3d scope)
scope_texture = wpn_crosshair_l85
Thanks for the quick reply.
I have a ton of mods, most installed before I started using JSGME.
Deleting L85.ltx from your gamedata did it.
Thanks again!
I don't understand, excuse me sir, why 2D should be better than 3D scopes?
it's preference i guess.
While I appreciate 3D scopes, I personally can't snipe anything with ACOGs while PSO feels all right.
I never felt any differences, I use the most zoom-in capability one. ACOG or PSO for me are just reticule difference, just a texture.
idk what do you mean, but PSO are 2D in base game and ACOG are 3D. And, for me at least, it vibrates a bit, reticle is not that great and anything I'd call "long range" is out of the question. You can see difference in screenshots.
This addon only changes those scopes to use texture overlay(same as PSO, all the snipers, PU, etc etc.) instead of actual ingame weapon model(3D). All the zoom values are as in base game.
Ok, all clear now, thank you mate!
Hello, thank you for this mod, it really improves ACOG experience.
I've tried it with LR 300, and it works fine, however in RC18 there's MK 14 EBR rifle, which still uses 3D scope.
I've tried to modify w_mk14.ltx file, extracted from game archives, so scopes section would look like one from LR 300:
scopes = ac10632, acog, eot
scope_status = 0
scope_zoom_factor = 63.3
and then put it into \Anomaly 1.5.0\gamedata\configs\items\weapons, like all other files of this mod, but it didn't work.
So how can I switch this rifle to 2D scope?
Sorry for late response,
go into your mk14 ltx file, find:
[wpn_mk14_acog]:wpn_mk14
scope_status = 1
scope_texture = wpn_crosshair_acog
Section you posted controls weapon without any mounts on, you need to edit parts that comes after "scoped" weapon, example :
-----------------------------
[wpn_mk14_ac10632]:wpn_mk14
*zoom values and stuff here for AC x2 scope*
-----------------------------
[wpn_mk14_acog]:wpn_mk14
*zoom values and stuff here for ACOG*
-----------------------------
[wpn_mk14_c-more]:wpn_mk14
*zoom values and stuff here ...*
-----------------------------
[wpn_mk14_eot]:wpn_mk14
*zoom values and stuff here*
This is because system actually creates a "new" weapon when you mount a scope, which overwrites [mk14] default stats with whatever comes after [mk14_acog], if there are somethings changed.
Hey folks, when I changed to 2d mode the rifle itself start looking huge (like occupying half of the screen). Is it known issue?
are you using this or you changed your own configs? It that hud_fov problem?
Note that this is for "1.5.0 update4 hotfix8" and default weapons, so if you use other weapon mods or game versions - no idea how this interacts
Hi,
Downloaded your addon : it's really good.
However, and it took me like 4 hours to look around and find it : it also changes a bunch of parameters for the weapons affected. Most importantly, scope zoom with red dots. For instance, if you install this, your red dot will appear much smaller (not the reticle, the entire red dot).
I don't know if it's a version conflit but i think it should be mentioned !
I think I know what you mean, It's default iron sight zoom.
However, this does not touch that. It's all the same as unmodded Anomaly.
(THIS ADDON TECHNICALLY IS OUTDATED, IT'S FOR VERSION AS IN DESCRIPTION(1.5.0 update4 hotfix8). I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS INTERACTS WITH 1.5.1 VERSION OR NEWER)
Note, this overwrites weapon configs, so any edits or other mods must be merged. Edits here are for weapons that accept ACOG scope, and by extension weapons that use those weapons as a "base", tough none specific comes to mind.
They all have
"scope_zoom_factor = 63.3"
and that is overwritten by any scope that chances zoom - like ACOG:
"scope_zoom_factor = 18"
I might have missed something tough, and I run all kinds of edits, so something could have leaked in here. Which weapon with which scope specifically has this behavior?
Finally someone did it, i don't like anomaly 3d scopes at all, would be great if u could also replace the pso scopes, it's annoying that some pso's are 3d and other's aren't.
it doesnt seem to work, i put it in "mods" folder and jsgme detects it, then i activate it in jsgme (after renaming the files in there, because it doesnt like multiple files with the same name) but nothing happens
Hey, first of all make sure you use old version of the game, for which this was made.
I didn't use any mod managers or anything, it's literally just a folder that you drop on your gamedata folder.
