Attempt to proportionate some UI/HUD elements for widescreen 16:9 HD resolution (typically 1920x1080).
Description
My attempt to give this game a proportioned HUD/UI on 16:9 HD (1920x1080) screens, at least for some elements... Latest version co-author is dan2091 who provided more aspect-corrected textures, especially in: menus, sniper scope effect, and he added also an extra legacy logos mod.

Installation
Extract archive to "\base\" subdirectory of the game. 3 files will be extracted. Be sure in case they are the last loaded mods (rename it as "zzz_pack070...").
As the name of the files suggests they are independent modular mods:
pak070_ws_00_hud.pk4 (global 16:9 HUD base fix)
pak070_ws_01_sniper_scope.pk4 (corrects "sniper mode" and rotating HUD)
pak070_ws_02_logos.pk4 (adds legacy 3D Labs and Humanhead logos and intro)

I need help with rotating elements when in sniper mode or in the shuttle: adjusting textures' horizontal size is no good in this case for the circular rotating textures (will look like a rotating oval shape)...
If someone knows how to achieve that please contact me, I'm not expert at modding id Tech 4 games.

Have you tried asking around the other idTech4 games? I think there were people who managed to get overlays aspect-corrected. Otherwise try consulting dhewm3's creators as they managed to force PDA and menus to 4:3 in 16:9. I'm not too adept at this stuff either, but your mod has big potential.
I think for the other games it was enough to resize the textures to compensate stretching or changing values. This case with rotating circular textures is different...
Please, if you know other forums for idTech4 games try asking there pointing back to this. I asked around but nobody replied.

Thanks for your efforts, it's really great to see this game getting the attention it deserves, can you please port the other languages of the HUD ? I'm using the french version of Prey and it crashes with your mod, i had to change the language to english to make it work, thanks for everything
It works fine on my Italian version of the game... It's not tight to a specific language.
Can you please try other languages (maybe french version has a different directory structure)?

Another improvement to do is that the HUD elements (Tommy heal indicator) still appears streched compared between a real 4:3 resolution, take a look:

Hey, how are you? You have to put the 3 files: pak_ws_00_hud.pk4, pak_ws_01_sniper_scope.pk4 and pak_ws_02_logos.pk4, inside the sikkmod folder, where pak_modfiles.pk4 resides.
If you do this, you won't have any problem. The scope will work properly and you will see the hud elements properly stretched.
Also the pictures you share of the 4:3 hud, the icons there are stretched vertically, actually.
If you plan on playing without sikkmod, then you put the 3 files inside the base folder.
Also, you will have to modify the name of pak_modfiles.pk4 to something like pak060_modfiles.pk4.
This is so that the game reads the sikkmod pk4 file first, and THEN the widescreen hud fixes
(which are named "pak_070_ws_" 00, 01 and 02.)

So, before putting the widescreen hud files inside the sikkmod folder, try to modify the sikkmod config INGAME to your liking,
because once the widescreen hud mod loads, it won't show the sikkmod menu option on the main menu.
If you ever want to enter the sikkmod option on main menu again, you will have to delete the widescreen files momentarily, do any sikkmod config change you want, and then place the widescreen
files again inside the sikkmod folder.
This is because the widescreen hud mod modifies mainmenu.gui, for the sake of making the game's main menu look nice on 16:9, but sikkmod uses mainmenu.gui too. So, the only solution I can give to this problem
is to delete the widescreen files for a while and then put then back.
IF YOU KNOW how to enter the pk4 files (with 7zip), you can enter inside pak070_ws_00_hud.pk4 and pak070_ws_02_logos.pk4
and manually delete the file mainmenu.gui inside the folder \guis\.
If you do this, you won't have to delete de widescreen hud files everytime you want to change the sikkmod configs, BUT the main menu will look stretched and ugly, lol.
