Version 1.8.4 of the Sith Lords Restoration Content Mod, featuring many fixes, and some additional content. This mod should hopefully give you the full experience Obsidian intended to give the player when working on KOTOR2.

Authors: Zbyl2, DarthStoney, Hassat Hunter & VarsityPuppet
Contact: PM us at Lucas Forums/Deadlystream
Name: The Sith Lords Restored Content Mod (TSLRCM) 1.8.4

1. Description:
Thank you for downloading and installing TSLRCM 1.8.4.
This mod's intention is to restore much of the content cut from The Sith Lords, that was lost to the main game due to a rush to release the game. This rush also left the game with a plethora of bugs (some of which also blocked out content, so not everything restored was really "cut"; for example the quest 'Corrun Falt'), so this mod should seriously decrease the buginess that plagued TSL.
Overall, our goal is to make the KotOR 2: TSL experience as close as possible for us (as modders can do) as what Obsidian originally intended it to be...

Be sure to check our website (or ModDB page) for potential upgrades, patches and compatible mods for TSLRCM. Our site will always have the most recent version of TSLRCM, something we cannot, sadly enough, promise from other sources.

Also, if you have issues, questions, or feedback, please post it on the official forums, as otherwise it will be read much later, or not at all. After all, we can't monitor the entire internet.

2. Installation:
1. If you're using an older version of TSLRCM (1.8 or lower), a game re-install is required before applying 1.8.4.
(Steam and GOG users, skip to point 4)
2. After re-installing it's advised to apply the official patch (1.0b). Non-US versions require you to install 1.0a first, then 1.0b, US versions can install 1.0b right away. Make sure to apply the patch that fits your version. Also, after installing 1.8.4, the official patch can no longer be installed!
3. If desired, apply the high quality music and/or movie patches
4. Install 1.8.4. Steam users are advised to use the Steam Workshop download!
We've had several users on Vista mention that instead of Program files (x86) it would point to Program Files/Program Files, causing the installation to fail. Make sure the installer points to the proper location of your KOTOR2 installation.
Default (32-bit windows); C:\Program Files\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\
Default (64-bit windows); C:\Program Files (x86)\LucasArts\SWKotOR2\
GOG default: C:\GOG Games\Star Wars - KotOR2
5. To check if the installation has succeeded, try launching KOTOR2:TSL. If at the main menu it says "Restored Content Modification 1.8.4" on the screen the installation has been successful.
6. While we try our best to make this mod as bug-free as possible, with the many options of KOTOR2 and our small testing team bugs, critical ones, sometimes make it through. We will fix them, so check our site for any potential updates and patches. We would rather not have people play unpatched and then experience issues like the black screen (1.7) or red eclipse (1.6)!
7. Install any TSLRCM-compatible mods you desire now. If you're unsure if a mod you want is compatible, check our list at our forums, or section 6 - Mod compatibility in this readme.

* You cannot use savegames made with vanilla Sith Lords or TSLRCM 1.7 or lower. Saves from 1.8 and above can savely be used, although some fixes may not take effect.
A fresh new game is always the best option for the least amount of issues.

First: Awesome!

Second: In order to keep my old mods (including the old RCM + M4-78) could I possibly rename my override folder, install the new RCM + M4-78, and then copy the backuped content from the old override folder back without overriding any files?

Do I have to expect bugs or anything from that?

The readme's got it, but they are too big for the description fields. I have a news item with them written, but it's been awaiting authorisation for the past 2 hours now.
Hopefully it's accepted soon.

Finally the day has come! I can't wait to play this game again restored after so many years! So if I don't have any other mods installed besides TSLRCM and M4-78EP am I able to simply uninstall TSL, reinstall it, and then install the new version of these mods? Or do I have to manually remove certain files?

Does the prerequisite patch have to be 1.0b? It looks like I have 2.00.420 English installed, and I can't seem to install 1.0b on top of that one. The EXE file of the 1.0b patch says: "Patch error: Old File not found. However, a file of the same name was found. No update done since file contents do not match." So, will I be able to install TSLRCM 1.8.3. + the M4 planet anyway?

Btw, the name of the manual patch I'm trying to install is "sw_pc_english_from200424_to210427". So, do I need a 2.000.424 somewhere first? I can't seem to find such, and the game's Updater also tells I'm up to date with 2.000.420...

Any help here would be hot.

Nevermind, problem solved! My bad. I could've sworn I had a US version, but got it working with UK version nonetheless. (And so it says on the back cover that mine's actually UK, duh...) 1.0b installed, and now to mod the game! Thanks in advance for these great mods! I've played some TSLRCM before and it absolutely rocked, so this will no doubt do such as well! ^^

Just discovered and played version 1.8.2 after playing the broken/unmodded version of KOTOR 2 on and off for years and I must say this is absolutely amazing! I'm in the process of trying out 1.8.3 right now and I'm so excited! You guys did a great job! Thank you so much for turning this game into what it was meant to be and for all your hard work and dedication to the project!

I've downloaded the mod, but can't open it. The file doesn't open and Windows asks me which program to use to open it. I've downloaded previous versions (as recently as 1.8.2) and didn't have this problem. I'm not a native Windows user (Mac only) so I might be missing something obvious, but I'd appreciate any advice.

I had a similar problem with windows 8. Edit the file name to a .exe. Apparently windows 8 doesn't like .exe downloads for what is presumably security reasons.

First of all; If you have installed it on another disk/location you need to change it obviously. Also you sure you have 64-bit windows. Make sure it doesn't list "program files" twice, and turn of Steam updates for the game...

This is probably a dumb question, but if we have 1.8.2 installed already, can we just take 1.8.3, download it, and then run the exe to install it, or do we have to uninstall 1.8.2 first?

Can never finish the game Kotor 2 with the ******* MOD TSLRCM_1.8.3.

The Jedi Master "Vash" is not there, it is just a bag there.

Then comes the message
"CONVERSATION ERROR: Last Conversation Node Contains Either to END NODE or NODE CONTINUE. Please contact the ******* designer!".

At the terminal appears the same message.
1. I load an old save game before Korriban did not help.
2. I uninstall the game with MOD and reinstalling with a fresh start of the game and MOD also brought no success.

If there are more errors in the MOD than in the entire game without MOD

I thought I downloaded the mod correctly, but when I start up the game it doesn't show "Restored Content Modification 1.8.3" on the main menu screen. The installation was pretty straight-forward so I don't know what I could have done wrong. I have KOTOR II on Steam so I haven't downloaded any other patches. I installed KOTOR II right before installing the restored content mod.

Guest May 25 2014, 10:09pm replied:

Nevermind, I solved it: what happened was I had a "Steam" directory folder, but then there was a "steam2" directory as well, which had parallel folders to the "Steam" ones. The game kept downloading into the steam2 common folder so I just copied its files into the Steam one and downloaded the mod into both folders.

tl;dr: I figured it out, thanks for the mod.
