After much deliberation, (and because no one opted to help as of yet or is around to talk me out of it)
I have decided to take the inital level back to the drawing board after various remarks about the unfinished pictures that were shown.
The intent is to take what I have learned from working on the level the first time and apply it more effectively, both from a visual standpoint and level design standpoint.
As of right now, the pre alpha release is suspended until the reworking of the first level is completed.
There is, however, a slight silver lining to this news. Please check out the Features tab. Some of the basic story has now been outlined as well as what to expect.
As always, any help on the mod would be greatly appreciated.
