Cant edit profile (badges) progress and i get error like this

Try to edit some of your settings and then save them. If that doesn't work, can you pm me you save001 file so I can take a look? The file can be found in C:\Users\USERNAME \AppData\Local\Hinterland\TheLongDark (Extra space is only because moddb comments can't have "words greater than 50 characters in length, lol)
I too get that exact error when the program starts. I'm unable to edit the profile/badges. Everything else works. I did as you suggested and edited the settings...in game and saved, that didn't seem to have an effect. How do you PM on this site? Is it the comment box on your profile page?

Ok found the problem, the profile file is not valid json. I'll fix it when I find an easy way to deserialize it anyway.

I was messing around a bit and decided to delete the profile file and have it regenerated. After, I restarted the game and allowed a new profile file to be created. The save game editor no longer errors out, but I still can't seem to edit the badges.
What happens when you try to edit them? If you save and refresh are they back to 0%?
I adjust it, save it. When I hit refresh, nothing changes. If I launch the game, nothing is changed. If I close the app and re-open it, the values are back to zero.
I had had a same problem as you had. I thought it was a matter of my local language setting in journals and save files, so I changed the language to English in Option and delete all Journals and Save Files I had. And then I made a new sandbox File with save001, which brought profile progress correctly. Hope It works to other guys.
Yeah the issue is in journals, I'm currently pretty busy but I'll hopefully fix it at some point.
@KiloJKilo Yeah I figured out the problem. You have to play the game at least once with the new profile to get it working. That and the previous issue will be fixed in the next version, which will come out when the newest tld version is out.

Hi,there's been some test branch recently released so I thought is it possible to update editor for that test? there some new clothing system so idk is there some other thing that needs to be done except that?
I'll probably wait until the new version is out of the test branch phase as it takes some time to inspect what has changed (or been added) to the save files and I don't want to do it twice :P
You need to update it for the test clothing branch, it doesn't work anymore when you update it to that
Ok I took a look, problem is just that test branch saves are in different folder. I'll release new version probably this weekend. It will have some new stuff like infinite carry weight, which was previously not possible to do with save editing.
A full 386 main version is out... When update?;o
Hopefully next week. 2.4 should work with the 386 except for loading profile. Just untick the test branch option and you're good to go. It already has the new items.
