It’s the distant future and mankind has expanded beyond its solar system. After spending several centuries traveling, expanding and populating, humans perfected the use of wormhole technology. But wormhole technology comes with a price: it consumes a natural resource found only in particular systems. Many more decades passed as humans built and placed the wormhole devices at strategic points in their little section of the galaxy, thus creating a network of “jump points.” During this time, Mankind had been aware of a war that spanned the galaxy, though known only by the effects their technology left behind. Through research and investigation, humans had learned that there was a massive war taking place between two powerful races: the benevolent Aeryopolis (silvery bird-like creatures that are described as looking like mercury), and the ruthless Kreen (bizarre looking creatures thought to have once had the ability to change their appearance at will. So what's new? A whole load of stuff is new! First of all, the gameplay is way better. There's no real way of telling you about that other than to let you play through and make your own observations. The weapons have been overhauled considerably to make them more powerful and more fun to use. The aliens, too, have been improved. The reaver alien is now in the game as a very formidable enemy. Every alien has been reskinned to give them a better look and feel, one that makes them a hell of a lot scarrier too! The interface has been improved as well, making the whole presentation tighter. Not to mention the new sounds, music, art, and technology that go together to make this release leaps and bounds better than our previous ones.

Also included in this release is a dev pack that consists of guides, documents, and programs that we used to create the game. It includes guides on how to work with our conversatio nengine, a complete HTML dump of our class tree, the SFCommunications Writer application, and more.

Now about v2.0. We're still going to release it, but have not set a date. Specifically, it will include the vehicles and new level discussed in earlier news posts plus other things. More on that later.
