Put simply, Real Hockey aims to put you in the skates of a hockey player and allow you to play the most realistic game of ice hockey you're ever likely to play on a computer. There are enough hockey games out there so why make another one? Well, for a start, this is played in first person perspective so you'll see the game through the skater's eyes. Most hockey games I've played are third person and give the impression you're controlling a player and not actually being one. Real hockey won't make the experience seem like you're watching a game, but will make you feel like you're in one! You'll feel your bones crunch as you're slammed into the barriers by a full-on body check, you'll feel the tension as you search for a good defensive position when you're a man down in a powerplay, and you'll hear the crowd cheering for you as you make a desperate attempt to slap the puck through the goalie's five-hole.
