This mod randomizes: most of the enemy spawns, including boss fights, the enemy HP, the items that the Merchant sells, the starting inventory for Leon, and the firepower upgrades. It was made for the Steam, PC version of the game, and it's compatible with the HD project mod.

Description

Update that improves the Inventory randomization, which now includes most weapons, and also fixes bugs related to it. To install the mod, extract the zip file into the "Resident Evil 4" folder. Detailed instructions and more information are included in the Read me file.

Thanks. I didn't change him because I couldn't. The only enemy that works (mutated Krauser) is already too active in the rando and is kinda buggy, so not changing this yet.

the mod has deleted ALL the files out of the game directory numerous times after seeding and launching the game .EXE?

Hi. The randomizer code is set to only delete the esl files that are intended to be deleted, so under normal conditions it won't delete more files. What antivirus do you have?

About the merchant, some merchants will be replaced by an enemy, this is stated in the readme file, and it can't be fixed at the moment.

One question, with the mod installed with this version most times merchant is changed and appears and enemy instead of the merchant. it is intentional? Its breaking my game a bit because I still don't have a normal gun :p

I'm pretty sure that it is intentional (the merchant being an enemy sometimes, if not always) as I've encountered it in all my randos. I'm not exactly sure why re_duke did it though. If you're encountering issues during the randomizer such as not having a proper weapon, I'd recommend regenerating your rando seed and starting over. I am a little confused, as you should have at least one normal gun, but if you're unable to find a way around this, I really do think restarting is the best thing for now. Making a report to re_duke would be quite helpful to prevent such things like this in the future. Thank you.

Finally, a last bit of advice, I'd go back to the last place you know there to be a merchant and see if you can purchase a normal weapon from him. It's the only thing I can think of. (You could also go get the shotgun from the village?)

I didn't replace the merchants for no reason. It's because if you don't replace those, then you can't replace the enemies in the room.
The merchants that are replaced are always the same, and some merchants will give new weapons, so that shouldn't be a problem at all.
All of the people that played, at least, 2 seeds, can confirm this.

Ahh, I see. Thank you very much for explaining why those merchants are replaced, I simply had no clue myself, as I'm not knowledgable in the ways of modding RE4.
You're correct as well, it doesn't really cause any issues.

Between all the missing merchants, I think I can enable again those before Mendez fight. I'll test that later, and if it doesn't cause issues it will be changed for the next update.

The other 4/5 merchants missing will be stay that way for now.

Ola duke! pregunta por simple curiosidad, he jugado ya varias veces el mod y es excelente... aunque he notado que la version 1.8 tienden a salir mas los ganados de la isla que los otros tipos ganados... esto es intencional o soy yo teniendo muy mala suerte?

Hola. En algunas secciones de la isla si que la chance que salgan es mayor, por el hecho de que en 3 habitaciones puntuales estos enemigos tienen que estar, no puedo quitarlos. En el resto tienen una proporción parecida al resto de los enemigos.

Hey there! Very fun randomizer already, but would it be possible to also add boss enemies as "normal" enemies? Human like enemies (Ganados, Zealots, Islanders) are too similar to another, even when randomized.
Also is it possible to randomize each individual enemy instead of full groups?

Thanks. The enemy variety is constantly modified between versions. The idea was to make 2 difficulties, in which the hardest will allow more boss spawns, but I didn't have time yet to do it. This could be made for the end of June.

The latest version has already some Verdugos, Krauser, Mendez and Super salvador as normal enemies in some areas. If Gigantes work they will be added too.

The second question was asked many times, and no, that will not be done. Only groups of 1 or 2 for now. Groups of 3 types were not tested yet, maybe that works.

Hola, no es la idea del randomizer quitar eventos de la "historia" del juego, aunque no lo descarto por completo. Como opcional podría funcionar, siempre y cuando tambien haga más rapidas ciertas peleas que no son random como Del Lago y U3.

Gracias por responder ,lo acabo de comprar por steam, no segui con el juego y acabe el capitulo y todo normal, ahora si que segui las instrucciones del pdf de extraer en la carpeta del mismo juego de steam y sobreescribir todo y al momento que quiero ejecutar la aplicación para crear la semilla del juego , me indica que lo del mercantil no se puede usar.

Para que no de ese error hay que cerrar el juego antes y, si lo anterior no funciona, abrir el randomizer como administrador.

Hi! Just yesterday I saw this randomizer mod for Resident Evil 4, and I immediately tried it out, and I'm very happy about it ^-^. [If you want to know the question right away, skip the message to the end :)]

I did not finish the game yet with randomizer mod, but I had a question about a thing.
During the Two Routes session, I chose the right Route as first, and U-3 arrived (A wild sudden challenge >:) ).
I tried to kill him with only my ammo, but it wasn't enough, and then I thought it could be better to kill it with just the knife.
I've stabbed it many, many times, I spent 20 minutes just stabbing him (I think it was 20 minutes at least, something like 4 stabs every 5-6 seconds), it just flinched every 3 or 4 stabs. After those 20 minutes I tried to use all the ammo I got:
-96 Handgun ammo with Red9, 1.8 per bullet;
-21 Shotgun ammo with start Shotgun, 5.0 per round;
-2 Incendiary Grenades;
-3 Handgun Grenades;
But it did not die. And then I thought: "U-3 usually does not die unless you enter his second stage. This U-3 reacts just like you are in those cages session, you can hit it how many times you like, it won't die, but just flich".


So my question is: When an U-3 spawns, can it be killed? Because, if you can actually kill it, I'll be much more patient next time I face it.

UPDATE: I decided to just go forward the right route. Once I exit the room, I entered in again. When I got back where U-3 was, I found it in its second stage, and it actually passed the big wooden door (which normally cannot due to its size).
I retried from the checkpoint, got back there, and it was not in its second stage. I found out that sometimes it gets in its second stage once I exit the room of the right route, but sometimes not.

UPDATE N.2: I tried to kill U-3 in its second stage, but it won't die. Stabbing him for 10 minutes, with more ammo:

-143 handgun bullet [same Red9 stats]
-26 shotgun bullet [same Shotgun stats]
-3 Incendiary Grenades;
-3 Handgun Grenades;

It keeps flinching every 6-7 stabs, without dying. It does not enter the third stage [that stage when it digs underground]. Same question here: Can it be killed?

Also, I noticed that its worm on the back [the one that slices you) got some strange symbols, those are similiar to Keyboard keys and Controller buttons [Xbox buttons to be precise].Only the worm got it, U-3 body it's clean. Those symbols do not appear immediately, only after 10 seconds the slice worm got out of its back.
Is that problem related to my game or the mod?

UPDATE N.3 (And final about this): It seems that U-3 enters the second stage only if it off-screen. If I go to the route on the right (from "Luis's House", the one which all the Ganados surround the house), it won't enter the second stage. But if I go to the right route from its exit door, U-3 will eventually enter its second stage. Don't know if it is killable though.
I have not installed HD Project, but I got the tweaks as the pdf requested.

Hi. Random U3s have infinite hp. This was not intended.
Random U3 textures are bugged for some reason, yes.

I was wondering about the Matilda, the Merchant can unlock it for you, and it does not count as NG+ since I did not enable NG+ weapons in my run (even if you unlock this weapon after you finish the game).
The thing is that the Merchant can unlock it for you, but you can't upgrade it. I think that's because you unlock the Matilda on NG+ and you can only use it and upgrade it there.

Is that intended to work like this?

This is intended. I know Matilda is a new game+ but it's not broken like the rest, so it will be available even with the option disabled.

From what I found, it seems error 0xc0000142 is caused with pirated versions, which are not supported.

Still, if your game is legal or not, I can't help you with this one, so I suggest googling the error code.

I'm aware of this, it looks like in this specific version there is a low chance to crash there. For now, you can jump to the Gigante room to continue, make a new seed+start over, or wait for an update which will come soon.

Mendez second phase spawns two bosses, one which is invincible seemingly, is this intended? It's pretty annoying with certain combinations.

Since you don't have to kill the enemy that replace Mendez legs, some of those bosses can be invincible, because they lack the death animation in that phase. Their spawn is intended, but them being invincible isn't.

Check that the randomizer files are in the folders shown in the images. Then generate the seed. There isn't much to do besides that.
