Report RSS Weekly Updates & Update #1

We've decided to keep this page more active by posting an update every week. Below we explain the system, and begin with Update #1!

Posted by on

Starting from now, every Monday we're going to make a post explaining our goals (max five) for the week, and every Friday, we're going to make a post reflecting on the goals we achieved. Any we fail to achieve will pass into the next week!

This should keep the page more active, and hopefully keep it more interesting.

We also welcome any questions related to the game, and we'll be answering all of them, so ask away if something crosses your mind!

Since it's Monday, we're going to start the weekly updates now.

Update #1

This week, we're going to focus on getting more of the core gameplay functioning. When we moved to Source 2013, we lost a lot of the functionality the old 2007 version had, for instance team selection, player classes, and changing speed based on class.

Our five goals this week are as follows:

One: Implement the team selection menu into Source SDK 2013 using the 2007 template code as a reference.

Two: Implement the class selection menu and classes into Source SDK 2013 using the 2007 template code as a reference.

Three: Begin removing unnecessary content from Half-Life 2, for instance code for the Gravity Gun and various other weapons/NPCs Optic won't be using.

Four: Create at least one basic map for testing the class' balance.

Five: Work on movement; reimplement the faster Runners and slower Hunters mechanic.

See you all on Friday!
