Last Alliance: TW is overhaul mod to Shogun 2. This mod base on stories from Tolkien's books, concretely on wars Dúnedain and Elves against Sauron at the end of the Second Age. This still WIP, but is avaiable alpha with playable Akallabêth campaign ^^

Mae govannen!

Yaaaay, in a two weeks since the release of Ered Luin we managed to prepare and release another faction as the Republic of Breeland \ ^^ / I have to say that's quite a fast rate :P
As always, thanks to Luiza and Jawor for their help in planning the next faction (especially Luiza, who prepared an unusually complex tech tree for Breeland). Thanks also to Sea for a little help with concept art.
So let's take a look at what you get in The Prancing Pony Update. If you want to support the project, check out my Patreon and my Ko-fi profile ^^

Bree didn't take a significant role in the grand events of the Second and Third Ages, but it is undoubtedly a famous place, located at the crossroads of two important routes: Great East Road and Great West Road (the second one not existing yet at the time of the Akallabêth campaign). Crowds of newcomers have always gathered at the Inn of the Prancing Pony, letting the city to grow.

In our mod we thought it best to make Bree a republic - as there is no mention of the government of this city, it is not yet part of Arnor, and the elves of Lindon are most unlikely to have interfered in the lives of the people here. The representative of the people of Bree is Darren Butterbur, who is also the owner of the famous inn. He is a character we have created, about whom you will probably be able to find out more in the future from the Last Alliance Encyclopedia.

Breeland's situation seems to be quite peaceful thanks to its close neighbourhood with a powerful elven kingdom. However, this peace can be deceptive because it is not a far way from the Prancing Pony to the High Pass or the Mount Gram and not to forget about the warrior tribes of people in the south. That is why it is important to reform the army, which initially has a considerable penalty to the cost of upkeep.

However, the people of Bree are usually a peaceful and friendly people, so a lot of focus has been placed here on developing the city itself. Apart from local trade and the expansion of workshops, you can prepare long-distance expeditions, which will allow you to acquire resources that are not available in the lands of Bree. Additionally, guests such as Elves, Dwarves and even Númenoreans often come to Bree - in the technology tree you can build districts for them, which will give you access to foreign units.

And moving on to the people whose responsibility it is to guard the peace of Bree. Although the armies of Breeland are initially quite unorganized they are brave people. Thanks to trade with their neighbours the people of Bree have had the opportunity to learn a lot from the Elves and Dwarves, so their army is quite well equipped. Additionally, the Bree infantry can count on the support of cavalry units, which usually patrol the Great Road.

In addition to adding a new faction, as usual, a few minor balance changes and fixes have been made to the mod, as well as bug fixes. Here I want to mention a bug that causes wrong textures to be loaded for some characters on the campaign map. The bug is caused by the agent_uniforms table, and seems to be completely random - every time I change something in this table the random characters get corrupted. So at the moment I can't think of any solution to this problem, but fortunately it only applies to the campaign map.

As always, a detailed list of changes can be found in the Changelog.

And that's all for now, I hope you enjoy the new update ^^ Now comes the time to start work on Lothlorien, so look forward to the Galadhrim presentation soon! ^^
