Mae govannen!

In the shade of the trees of the Valley of Singing Gold live the Galadhrim. Many of them, along with their leader Amdir, came here from fallen Doriath and still have the wounds in their hearts caused by the wars in Beleriand. For this reason, they have fenced off their country from the outside world and lived in peace for a long time among the flourishing Mellyrn.
However, darkness is once again engulfing Middle-earth, and when the drums of war rumble from everywhere, the Galadhrim can no longer stand quietly. Amdir and his son Amorth, who rule Edhellond, must once again take up their weapons and face the darkness.

So, the Galadhrim join the company of playable factions in the Akallabêth campaign! It took me longer to work on the new update than I had planned (partly because my allergy tried to kill me throughout June), but I can finally bring you into play not only the Kingdom of Lothlórien, but also the reworked Edhellond, which is now a sub-faction of the Galadhrim. Thanks again to Luiza and Jawor for their help with the planning of the new faction ❤️.
So let's see what's new waiting for you in this update. If you want to support the project, check out my Patreon and my Ko-fi profile ^^

I'll start with a general change affecting all factions, which is a redesigned faction selection menu. Previously, this menu was a bit limited, which made it quite cramped with the multitude of playable factions. In addition, the small frame for faction descriptions didn't allow for the comfortable placement and reading of longer texts. I have changed both of these things and now, when we add descriptions for more factions in the future (currently they are only added for the Numenorean faction), there will be no need to worry about the text being too long. There will probably be some more minor changes here in the next update (like adding more faction effects slots), but the main changes are done.

Moving on to the Galadhrim themselves. The Galadhrim are mainly made up of Sindar and Nandor, so you won't see as many heavily-armed units here as in the ranks of Lindon. However, they are not inferior in fighting skill to the elves of the land of Gil-Galad, and they make up for some shortcomings in weaponry by taking a more subtle approach to combat and avoiding frontal confrontation until it is necessary. Therefore, the heart of their forces are troops of Marchwardens, tasked with guarding the borders of Lothlórien and stealthily keeping any enemy out of the homes of the Galadhrim. They are supported by troops of axemen who, if need be, are to assault the enemy and dispose of them before anyone realises what is happening.

However, sometimes an open battle must occur, and for this too the Galadhrim have an answer. In addition to the Old Realm Archers, heavy-armed axemen tasked with guarding the walls of Caras Amdir and troops made up of the few Noldor who have taken up residence in Lothlórien may also enter the fray. The ruler of Edhellond Amroth can also send support to his father in the form of Swan Lancers. Thus, the first custom event has been introduced to the mod! \ ^^ /

Meanwhile, Amroth ruling Edhellond can also count on the support of Falathrim troops living with the Galadhrim in Edhellond, in addition to their Swan Lancers. While they do not have access to the Caras Amdir Guard, the Falathrim's troops of spearmen and archers are a great support for them in possible battles in the open areas around Edhellond.

Both factions got their own faction effects, while Lothlórien also got its own technology tree. Edhellond is using the same tree for the time being, but we want to add their own tree in the future. For both factions, the AI behavior has also been basically configured. Of course, both factions are now also available in custom battles and multiplayer battles.

In addition to this, as usual, the mod has received a few minor fixes and changes. As always, you can find a detailed list of changes in the Changelog.

And that's it for now. I hope you enjoy the Galadhrim campaign ^^ Now work will begin on the Oropher's kingdom - Eryn Galen, so look forward to the first information about them soon!
