Israeli Defense Force: Fight for Independence is a Total Conversion modification for the PC game Battlefield 2 (A.K.A. BF2). What we aim to achieve with this mod is to immerse the player into the historic wars involving Israel, Syria, Egypt, and Jordan, which are the 6-Day War, the War of Attrition, and the Yom Kippur War. The player will be able to play as a common soldier, crewmember, or pilot in these wars. The mod will feature historically accurate equipment such as the famous Russian AK-47, the fearsome SO-4050 bomber, the menacing IS3 and M48 tanks, and much, much more. Also, the maps will recreate actual battles that happened in these wars, to complete a historically-accurate and immersive modification. IDF:FFI is also a member of the acclaimed cooperative gaming studio Black Sand Studios.

The EoD version actually did have that, it was awesome. Maybe we will add something similar only in Hebrew.

I know, that is why I was asking hehe. We were thinking of trying to add it to the MI-4 we use as a placeholder in BFK for an H-19. Would be nice to make it have the song.

Can't not love the classic huey.

Just as a side note the rotor is too low, the scissors and sleeve assembly is below the swashplate assembly. PR had the same bug.

Description

The IDF will get a major upgrade in the helicopter department in our next release. Here we have the first of 2 new IDF helicopters, the UH-1.

The Bell 204 and 205 are the civilian versions of the UH-1 (nicknamed "Huey"), single-engine military helicopters. Bell designed its Model 204 in response to a 1955 United States Army requirement for a utility helicopter, since than more than 16,000 Hueys have been built. The 204 was a giant step forward in helicopter design, being one of the first to be powered by a turboshaft. The use of a turboshaft allowed it to carry a useful payload over respectable ranges and speeds. The Hueys become legendary during the Vietnam War, performing multiple roles but also suffering heavy losses in the process.

Israel purchased their first Huey's, a batch of Bell 205's after the Six Day War to supplement their aging piston-engine H-34 helicopters. They were heavily used during the War of Attrition and Yom Kippur War as transport, medivac, search and rescue and utility helicopters. The early Israeli Hueys tended to be un-armed although later versions could have machine gun mounts for door gunners.

We show the Israeli Huey with its 3-tone camouflage that was typical of helicopters and aircraft used in the 1970's. We want to have 2 versions of the Huey: An un-armed medivac version and a transport version with doors open, allowing the passengers to fire their personal weapons.

The excellent model/texture where shared with us by the EoD mod.
