How to install:
*If you are updating from a previous version, delete the previous version before installing.
Download and extract this .rar archive.
If you are using the Steam version, you may place the "LeaderOverhaulMod" folder anywhere. If you have the windows store version, then you must put it here:
C:\Users\*YourUsername*\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.BulldogThreshold_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState
Open the LeaderOverhaulMod folder and copy the folder address/path
Then, go to:
C:\Users\*YourUsername*\AppData\Local\Halo Wars
Right click, create a .txt file and name it "ModManifest".
Open ModManifest and paste in the address that was copied.
Save ModManifest, and you're done

Balance Changes and Bug Fixes:
- Shield Protectors should no longer be invisible
- Needler Jackals' weapons should now appear properly
- Fixed the Grunt Deacons' landmines so they now properly explode when enemies get too close
- Fuel Rod Wraiths should attack more frequently and consistently
- Removed the ability for the flood leader to build infected air units (Such as hornets) from the gravemind
- Infection forms no longer 'stun' units when they attack
- Spirit and Pelican upgrades now only increase the carrying capacity of spirits by 3 each, rather than 6
- Reduced the population count for Brute Choppers from 2 to 1
- Flood Leader now begins the game with an infected Warthog, rather than Infection forms and a Carrier
- Fixed many issues with the flood leader, including unit costs, train times, and descriptions that were missing or incorrect
- The AI for all leaders except the Flood have been vastly improved (especially UNSC)
- Flood Infantry and Scouts no longer have a cloud around them, and have been given proper flood models
- Brute Chieftain leader changed to Tartarus. (Just an appearance change for now)
- Tartarus leader gains Brute Chieftains as infantry units that have a population limit of 3.
- Enforcer Sentinels added to Repository and Regret's Summit
- Constructor Sentinels added to Repository. They do not attack, but instead are meant to heal units
- Added a flame marine as the gunner of flame warthogs, and changed the turret gun to a flame thrower (visual change only)
- Brutes that wield Plasma Rifles now have a new attack animation
- Elite Officers (only found in tier 2-3 Grunt Squads) now wield Plasma Repeaters, and have new animations
- All Brutes have been given new models from Halo 3
- Covenant scouts are now trained and upgraded from the hotdrop pad instead of the factory.
- In place of scouts, Covenant leaders can now train new vehicles from the factory:
- Arbiter: Spectre
- Tartarus: Prowler
- Regret: Revenant
- Grunt Rebellion: Grunt Goblin
- Tartarus and Regret now have access to new units available at the hot drop pad:
- Tartarus: Brute Chieftain
- Regret: Goliath

Quick auestion when I go to Local I dont see a Halo Wars Folder anywhere in it? Where might I have gone wrong with the install? I installed it through the Microsoft Store and can Launch the game fine normally
Since you aren't using steam, you should see this there instead:

Damn i love the new additions. Also i see that the new revenant seems to be a little broken because the damage that it does it-s high and it can kill faster than a wraith, but anyways this is an Amazing Update for a great mod:3

I am planning on adding the pure forms at some point, but it could be a while depending on whether or not I'll need to make custom animations for them.

This is a very good mod.
I found a bug. The Gauss Canon from the Warthog shines bright, but does not show the textures itself. It just glows bright.
Another thing: I have a question to ask.
Could you, the mod creator "TheRealSlimLady" reconsider the place/leader for the AA-Wraith?
--> Arbiter gets normal Wraith and Prophet of Regret gets the AA-Wraith.
The Arbiter already has the Elites with the Fuel Rod canons and the AA-Wraith is just a bigger vehicle version of that.
The Prophet of Regret on the other side does not have fuel rod guns and would benefit from it. Since his special units are his Honor Guard, and they are real warriors, this leader would benefit from AA vehicles.
So the proposal is to switch the Arbiters AA-Wraith and the Prophets normal Wraith.

For anyone who plays Halo Wars through Xbox Game Pass on PC, you don't have Halo Wars folder in Local, and trying to make one and making ModManifest doesn't work, albeit mod files are in right direction. I have put this txt into same folder as mod folder ( not inside the mod folder!) and then it worked.
So now after playing a bit, it is nice to have more units and options,but I see on the images here mod stuff has proper names, by me those are like unsc_spartan_smg, but maybe it is because of language version, will later change to english and see if it is still so (during first skirmish didn't saw option to do so, maybe in main menu). And gauss cannon on warthogs is all white and shiny, no texture

Just came across a glitch. I trained 3 spartans and only 1 spawned, but the game is acting as though all three had spawned. Basically it's showing 3 spartans in the units, but there is only one on screen.
Did you spawn rocket spartans? They seem to be bugged, and don't work.

Hi, love the mod, especially the new models for some of the units, the covenant look fantastic! However I wanted to note a few bugs I've noticed:
- The rocket launcher spartan doesn't spawn properly, they spawn as a small blob on the floor and get stuck in the base when trained, you have to fly them with the transport ability out of the base, and even then there's no model, it's just a blob sliding on the floor 24/7.
- Secondly, spartans are unable to hijack Vultures, even with the option enabled in the settings they are unable to enter them.
- Thirdly, I remember messaging Blackandfan about this, but the transport ships (spirit and pelican) cannot be healed, I remember there being some issue where it prevents you from allowing them from being healed.
- This isn't a bug, but I feel like the hammers used by the new tartarus and the new brute chieftain models are either too big, or the models are too small, I'm not sure if that's just me or if it's something that can be amended?
- The brute captains also need a buff, for how expensive they are they can die very easily and the damage output isn't that great.
All in all, love your mod, huge fan! :D
I've been playing this version for awhile now. Excellent work as usual! The improvements to the AI are certainly noticeable and breathe new life into the game as the AI uses a wider variety of units and tactics. The new textures and weapons are great. The new units are simply amazing.
I hope I can aid development by including this lengthy compendium below:
Bugs that are already mentioned by others that I encountered too:
- Spartan Rocket Launcher is rendered unusable because he spawns buried underground with just his head sticking out and cannot hijack or attack, but can still be damaged. He cannot even exit bases and can only move (albeit still underground) either after being transported by a Pelican or if he is built from an auxiliary building site. This also affects AI players that build Spartan Rocket Launcher.
- The Gauss Cannon on Gauss Warthogs has no texture and glows white. It's very pretty though.
Bugs and errors that I encountered:
- The Mega Turret can still fire forever if another Mega Turret was built and fired before it. An easy solution might be to limit each player to build only one.
- Grunt Goblins occasionally fail to automatically attack enemy units in range, even if they are being attacked by the enemy.
- The Flood Gravemind cannot deploy Flood Beacons if population is at or above maximum, which is especially crippling when attempting a turtle strategy.
- Flood Beacons can roll upside-down or sideways when they impact uneven terrain or Flood Roots. Flood Roots that are built from sideways Flood Beacons cannot be hit by units or even Leader Powers. The only exceptions I discovered were the missiles and rockets launched from a Hornet and the final explosion from Vortex.
- AI-controlled Flood Stalk Clusters can turn into UNSC Heavy Supply Pads under uncertain conditions.
- Shield Protectors can get permanently caught on cliff faces and other tall terrain instead of following the unit it is attached to. I encountered this bug most frequently on Chasms, at the cliffs near the top-right base.
- Pelicans are excluded from the Global Units command.
- BR Marine description is from Personal Shield for Grunts either when fully upgraded or on Deathmatch.
- Neutral Flood Stalk Clusters that spawn enemies are called "Elite Ranger".
- The Flood Den is called "Barracks" and has the description for the UNSC Barracks.
- Revenants cannot be hijacked.
- RPG Ability for Marines requires population.
- Descriptions for Elite Ultra still mentions Fuel Rod Cannons.
Suggestions:
- Enforcer Sentinels are categorized as Heavy Aircraft but are consistently frail. Even with their instant deployment capability, they cannot withstand enough damage to be useful as Heavy Aircraft. In their current state, they are better at providing additional firepower from behind your main force, fulfilling the role of Combat Support. They need more hit points or more armor if they are to be considered true Heavy Aircraft.
- Allow The Grunt Rebelion to build and upgrade Cicadas at the Gravity Lift. It would help to make up for the weaker Grunt Ghost in the mid to late game. I also just really like the Cicada.
- Allow the Prophet to construct Sentinels and Super Sentinels? This is mainly just because I think it would be cool though.
- If possible, allow the UNSC to build the Field Armory in Deathmatch.

I think the Flood Ai could use some work, they sometimes do literally nothing the entire game.
And while they can buy bases they never upgrade any of their buildings or their main structure.
I don't think I've ever seen them make units.
Also maybe buff their pure form units as they are all extremely weak.
One last thing, maybe consider changing the income on the Flood resource building. It doesn't seem to make enough of a difference to upgrade them, currently the Flood's economy can't keep up with everyone else's.
Other than that a very cool mod, appreciate what you are doing with it.
I followed the instructions perfectly and everything is where it should be but the mod simply won't work. I have no idea what to do but it's extremely frustrating because I've seen videos of the older versions of this mod and seen a lot of other things relating to it and it looks really cool, but it won't work.
I read the instructions and I did one thing differently.
On this path C:\Users\*YourUsername*\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.BulldogThreshold_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState is where I made the text file, named it ModManifest, and pasted in the address that was copied.
See if doing it that way works for you

Love this mod, but there appears to be a bug with the rocket spartans. They can't attack, spawn stuck in the base and need a pelican drop to get them out, and only their helmet shows.
Also, is it possible to make it so that pelicans and spirits can be repaired?
I downloaded and placed the mod in the local files but for some reason the game crashes whenever i try to load the game. Do you know what might be wrong?
