This is a reworked mod based on SoulScream's original work. His mod had several flaws like missing tracks, the inability to play songs during stunt events, etc. Now everything works as it should.

Description

These are the files that you need. Detailed instructions on how to install them can be found in the READ ME file.

After the installation, I still can't hear the difference in soundtrack. When extracting I didn't have to replace anything and I could still see original tracks in "music" folder. Am I doing something wrong?

Unfortunately I'm not very good at explaining such things as how to install a mod. Also I don't know how to make a video. I've probably made this more complicated than it needed to be. I'm sorry for that, but I am also new at modding. Though I'll try to help you of course.

1. Download the files (obviously) and save it to wherever you like.

2. Open the compressed zip-folder "FO2 Soundtrack for FO Ultimate Carnage" and extract the "FO2 OST" folder onto your desktop. Inside this folder is another folder called "music". What's inside there is everything you will need, minus the READ ME file.

3. Go to your FOUC installation directory
(e.g.: C:\program files (x86)\Empire Interactive\FlatOut Ultimate Carnage

4. There should be a folder called "data". Open it. Inside you should see some other folders with names like "cars", "database", "drivers", etc.

5. Find the folder called "music". Now you have two options that should work for you: Either a) completely remove this folder from your installation and replace it with the "music" folder that you just downloaded and extracted. Or you can b) leave the folder intact, but swap out all the tracks (.ogg data format) and all three .bed files from your "music" folder on your desktop. That should do the trick for you.

In retrospect I shouldn't have named the folder (which contains the new music) in the same way as the one in the directory. This makes it just more confusing apparently. Again I apologize for this. If you're still having trouble installing the mod, please contact me again and I'll try to make a video.

I really hope this helps!

Sincerely

RYNOX²

OK, so I've come to a conclusion, that my fresh install of game (it's original, so it's not a fault of cracked software) does NOT have any .bed files in its "music" folder, so the files from "data.bfs" must overwrite the files from the mod each time at launch, which sucks.

BUUUUUUT...

I came with a workaround. You have to unpack "data.bfs" and "streamed.bfs" files with BFS Unpacker for FOUC, then rename "filesystem" to "filesystem_old" (it could be any different name, to be honest), so the game won't take this file into consideration at launch. Just unpack mod on top of it and everything works like a charm :D

Maybe versions from different countries have different file placement and/or are packed in different ways? Dunno ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But if somebody has/will have the same problem, try this. Here's the link to BFS Unpacker that I've used (use BFS3pack_smart_gui): Sendspace.com

Your mod is not working with the original Steam-version because you have to put the bed-files into a bfs-archive, this way fouc prioritizes the new bed-files. Nonetheless, the music has to stay inside the "data\music"-folder. I fixed that for you :)

Drive.google.com

Simply copy the content of this archive into your FOUC-root-folder and you're ready to go. By default both soundtracks are merged in my version. If you want the FO2 OST alone, simply open "filesystem" in a text-editor and replace the line "fo2_ost_merge.bfs" with "fo2_ost_replace.bfs".

I created a new version of the mod but didn't share it anywhere yet. I gathered all FO2-OST songs in HQ lossless files to put them in FOUC. The quality is a true blessing compared to the original files.

For obvious reasons I didn't create a merged version this time but it is again compatible with the steam version.

Download: Drive.google.com

Have fun :)

For those havin problems in making this works, i would like to share something that worked for me... well, kinda of worked. So, ive copied everything as the instructions tell you to do, but it didn't work, the games shows the info on the FOUC OST as usual, but theres no music playing, so, ive selected 20 songs (the ones i love the most on FO2) and draged into the FOUC's music folder, then, i copied the names of FOUC songs and just replaced the names of the FO2 songs with the FOUC names, so the game thinks its playing his songs, except is not, the songs playing will be the 20 ones youve chosen... its kind of a bummer though, cause FO2 have more then 20 songs and i love them all. Well, i had to do this cause FOUC (at least my version of the game) doesnt have those .bed files, so i can't really make this work... anyways, hope this helps some of you.
