The Enduring Freedom project is aiming to bring realistic combat simulation to the GEM 2 engine and is focused on the units involved in the initial coalition combat ops during Operation Anaconda in Afghanistan (Special Forces, 10th Mountain Div, and 101st Airborne). Conventional warfare will be presented as well. Project features and info can be located in the news section.

This Kgwings.com will most likely be the Taliban/Afghan militia rough equivalent.

Very happy to have Zlatorog to help out now. We seem to have a good "system" between the two of us. No this is not from Arma2 OA, nothing in this project is ripped from anything else. Excuse my over-sensitivity to this issue, however we all know what happens around MOW community when people start talking about ripped content:D

Looks awesome, but don't think that so much detail is needed, especialy the grill on the side and maybe some other parts, don't you think that having 20+ of such highly detailed models + map size + inf + effects + destroyable stuff will slow down any machine sooner or later? Most fps games don't even go into such great detail. Most of the modeled details can be easily replicated with good normal and diffuse textures.

Well, I will say that again I have never experienced serious issues, however patches may introduce more optimization depending on the feedback received! I am looking into several solutions to optimizing mesh while maintaining existing uvw coordinates of model. If it works out then I may further optimize models by baking high poly detail onto low poly texture map.

Quoted from Zlatorog:

"7200 polys are not too much for this game. It has less poly than King Tiger tank in the MOW.
But the 'grill' on the right side is realy realistic normal texture. Some people think polys about it :)"

Uhm you have to count triangles and not polygons. Triangle count is what is important.
