There are three new maps in D3:Evolution. All of them incorporated into the original game with a unique story as well as supporting the Doom 3 game world in one way or another.

To answer udm's question:"No new campaigns or maps planned though right?"

To the point- definetly not a new campaign, but there are a few maps. There's an intro map where you can choose your Class and Implant, and an actual game-play map( Mars City Utility ), this is where you get to choose your Augment and Tool. The events in MCU take place before the events of the invasion so the game-play here is more like an adventure ( it takes about 20-30 minutes to finish, depending on how much in a hurry you are ). Throughout MCU, you will be lead by Cpl. 'Smokes' via emails. Most of the time, however, you will get to hunt for PDA's, find secret places, even run an errand or two for the Corporal. Having said that, this is still Doom, so you won't find it too difficult to figure things out :) .

All the screenshots in 'images' are from the maps mentioned above, feel free to browse and comment on them.

There is another map which is currently WIP. It is a sandbox-tutorial environment, where you can test out all of the new equipment and sample the different styles of game-play, skills and tools that the mod offers.

Let me point out that the maps are fully integrated in the original game and are meant to fit in the game's universe through events, PDA's and environment. In a few words- they are new, but my aim was to make them fit so well that you feel like they were allways there.

On a different note. I am currently play-testing the mod for bugs. That is very important, as it will dictate the final release date ( that and uni exams ), so... fingers crossed :) .

That's it for now. Expect more news ( possibly including a release date ) in a week or so.

Thanks, udm, as I said the maps are almost done, although, after the playtest there are a few bugs that need tending to, and the sand-box\tutorial map is in the process of construction too, so I'll have screens of it at some point this week.
