Doom 3:2553 is a simple mod with the goal of putting the events of DOOM 3 in the Halo Universe. This means Halo weapons, character models, and lore. Weapons have been completely updated with new stats and models.

A status update regarding the mod, when it may release and What needs to be done.

Here's an update regarding the mod.

It's still in development, a slight hiatus. But that's over. I'll officially be working full time on it next week.

Q: "What needs to be done?"

A: As it stands, the mod is complete. I could ship it now if I wanted to, however after looking at some of the model work done, I'm not exactly happy with it. I would like to revise a lot of the character models, and do some more character models. For example making the workers uniforms be changed to the Halo CEA Crewman uniform.

I would also like to look into porting some more props from Halo, such as crates. Just to make it feel more like Halo.

Q: "When will it release?"

A: I can't make any promises, and I'm not going to list a date. What I can assure you is that I'm not gonna pull a yandere dev. I would hate myself if this mod took 20 years to finish lol.

Q: "Will Sikkmod be required?"

A: I like Sikkmod because of how it makes the shaders on models look, notably the viewmodels. However, I do understand that not everyone cares for it, so there will be a version that lacks Sikkmod.

Q: "Will there be support for Open Coop?"

A: I would love Open Coop support, I would definetely play it with my friend or something. Regarding the task of actually supporting it, the Sikkmod-less version should work with it. Just drag the mod files into the Open Coop folder. I might look into hosting my own version of Open Coop that includes the mod natively. But I would have to ask permission and what not, so don't quote me on it. Worst case scenario, I gotta write a tutorial.

Q: "Will you do ROE?"

A: Yes, I will be. But it won't release the same time as the main game version does. My plans for an eventual ROE mod would include unique weapon models and sounds, just to make ROE feel different compared to the original campaign. Regarding the story, you may or may not play as an ODST.

Q: "What's next after that?"

A: Who knows? I had some ideas for making a mod like this for Quake 4. That sets the events of Quake 4 in the Halo Universe. An alternate timeline where the UNSC encounters the Strogg instead of the Covenant. That or have it take place wayyy farther in the timeline.

I love Doom 3, and I love making this mod. TLDR: It's gonna get done, I just have my standards too high lol.
