Design Principles
A - Viable without a "Specific Build" (Classes can stand on their own and stand even better with any subclass)
B - Fun and Exploitable (Remove limitations and strange class quirks and add new quirks)
C - Match Class Fantasies (Add dashes of lore/realism to how Abilities work)
D - Keep the Challenge (Slightly lower Base Stats to compensate for new gameplay opportunities)
E - No Degenerate Abilities (Modify all instances of Abilities doing - "Same Damage Different Flavor")
Compatibility & Cross-Mod Integration
At this time, I have no plans implement any cross-mod integrations. This mod SHOULD be compatible with any mod that does not touch or interact with the vanilla classes & animations. Even the debuffs that look to replace things like Bleed are actually brand new and containerized in their own folder. If you're a mod author and need to talk so we can coordinate IDs or such, feel free to get in contact, or just open my mod in Crys Edit yourself. I tried to keep things readable just for situations like this.
Acknowledgements
I've been working with my head down on this mod for 3 months or so. I was unable to playtest every single area, class, interaction, and ability. I 100% expect there to be balance issues. I also expect there to be things I designed in my frenzy that don't play out intuitively at all. And I'm happy to tweak and tune according to community feedback. However I would ask anyone that offers suggestions to consider my design goals and try to avoid knee-jerk reactions to make things more like Vanilla. This is a Vanilla+ mod but it's NOT Vanilla. This mod was made in response to frustrated players that you can find in the Steam Guides and Steam Discussions for this game. So if you find me shooting down your suggestion, please remember that it's not personal.
And ofc it's worth noting that you're free to copy my work, tweak it to your liking and then make an alternate mod. Apotheosis: Tweaks for example. I don't mind things like that.
