I've been playing this mod {if you're wondering how I got it so fast because I've been using cheats, sorry ;-; } and I have 2 ideas, 1: Make the sky darker. By this I mean that you put the color of the sky gray or black, 2: corpses, I don't know about you but I would like the idea that on the maps there were corpses of dinosaurs, synapsids {moschops and dimetrodon} and flying reptiles all over the maps and that also some of these creatures had bites caused by zombies or blood

Cheats: Did you cheat to get completed so fast or did you cheat because of how flippin tough this is?

Idea 1: I was thinking the same thing.

Idea 2: I still need to learn how to edit maps.

due to the difficulty

LOL! And I should mention this is NOVICE rank. I haven't decided yet, but there could potentially be 3 higher difficulty settings. Here is a general concept for the idea below.

Novice: Dinosaurs have default C2 health, weapons costs are normal, equipment is cheap, & classic map ambients are moderately hostile.

Advanced: Dinosaurs have C2+ health stats, weapon costs are slightly higher, radar & double ammo cost more points, & classic map ambients are more hostile.

Expert: Dinosaurs have triple health stats, weapon costs are much higher, equipment costs more, & classic map ambients are as aggressive as the roster dinosaurs.

Insane: Dinosaurs are as tough as T-Rexes, weapon costs are expensive, equipment costs a lot more & radar is disabled, classic map ambients have more health.

Also, did you read my survival guide before you started playing?

I've never read the instructions of anything even 1 time in my life, maybe that's why I'm doing badly in some games

Did you realize that the creatures had mortal zones? I listed the mortal spots on each dinosaur in the survival guide.

Another question I have is "What do you think of the weapons in this mod?"

G17: This is a normal weapon that I have nothing to say /// db-ss: I can create a song just by shooting with this weapon /// Quick shotgun: I laugh at how fast the hunter reloads the gun /// hmg: R A M B O /// Press rifle: this is also a normal weapon /// X-plosive arc: very strong and so cheap, but hey, it only has 3 bullets so it's fair to me

Nice. Nice. That's what I like to hear. Any recommendations of what the last two weapons should be and their placement on the roster?

Also, the x-plosive bow should have 6 bolts, not 3. But I can change this in the future :)

I would recommend you to put a Sniper rifle that can shoot fast as well as the rapid shotgun And let it be the weapon 6 and change to the x-plosive bow for the weapon 7, the second I do not know what to put

Wouldn't a sniper rifle be tough to use considering the gameplay is 75% close combat?

Perhaps I can use a sniper rifle similar to the Migration one...

I have added the sniper rifle, it's called the "Hyper Sniper". Once I figure out what the next weapon will be I will release it in a patch.

This is the most hillarious mod i played for a while, and i love it!

A few suggestions for future versions:

1) I think dinosaurs should be slower at easier difficulty, and would run only at expert and insane difficulty (even faster on insane). You can swap animations and change running speed. To compensate, they could already have more health than they should be even on easier difficulty. They are zombies after all.

2) Would be cool to have some sort of Boss creature for each map. It should only spawn at night or dawn (at least on easier difficulty), somewhere not too close for player spawn point, and not neccessary too agressive or sensetive unlike others. They give you tons on points after killing them, and if you kill them - you basically won the challenge completely (like, you got S-Rank)! An example - giant Moshops, the size of Mammoth. Because why not? Or giant, continiously leaping Velociaptor. Or even weak (1 health) yet tiny, sneaky, speedy Ceratosaurus. The more bizzare - the better! (if you think thats too silly, you can skip this idea)

3) This skin pack can be used for most original Ornithomimid1 canon style creatures, because they often use the same textures. So you can add a bunch of them too.

4) As far as weapons roster goes, i think it's fine. But it should feel less and less overpowered the higher difficulty becomes. And game should encourage you to use all your guns, not sticking with the most powerful one only.

I’m glad you love it!

1.) What difficulty would you say this demo is set as?

2.) I love that idea! Although, you were talking about a tiny cerato, that’s not a boss is it? Anyways, a giant moschops-hell yeah. I think a huge dimetrodon would be good too. I could also put that boss mosasaur map in this mod.

3.) I could do one of three things: (1) a few of the ornithomimid1 Dinos can be bosses (2) they can be map specific (not on all maps) (3) I can do a Canon Extended Apocalypse version for them specifically. I already have plans for a Ice Age Apocalypse version.

4.) I plan on releasing a patch that adds the last two weapons: the rapid revolver & the hyper sniper. Could you actually tell me what you think of each of the weapons?

The more I play test this demo, the easier I feel it becomes. This could easily be advanced if not novice even. The toughest part of a hunt is always the beginning, but after that its usually smooth sailing. I don't know about you, but I think I need to add a higher difficulty & I could use some help with that.

I wanted to ask you how I could change the difficulty of this mod so that the change in difficulty is consecutive and fair. For the next difficulty, all I can think of is either having all the dinosaurs spawn in pairs or give them C2+ health stats.

I not sure about difficulty and most weapons, because i haven't played enough yet (i am a little overwhelmed with all those MEE mods). The start of every hunt session is indeed the hardest part. I want difficulty to be like this - you start with easiest one, and once you mastered it - the next level will not look absolutely impossible for you. So it's good that you already find this difficulty pretty tolerable.

In original games carnivores, despite being smaller and less bulky than most herbivores, were more durable somehow. You can make them even harder here, if you use car files without mortal zones. Because, rapid shooting weapons with tons of ammo are too OP against enemies with easy-to-hit mortal zones, even if damage is tiny - that thing makes some mods a little to easy in my opinion, once you unlock such weapon. Yes, that difficulty could be NOVICE, i almost forgot to say that.

At least for some of them, you can increase the speed of animals using animations and res settings, like:

1)NOVICE - Normal speed, animals walk and run as usual.

2)ADVANCED - A bit faster, only herbivores walk and run as usual, while Carnivores ALWAYS RUN.

3)EXPERT - Same as NOVICE, but all animals ALWAYS RUN, animals with working swimming animations swim faster then usual, but not too much.

4)INSANE - Even faster than ADVANCED, all animals ALWAYS RUN, animals with working swimming animations swim with running speed.

Funny thing - if you make dinosaurs too fast, they would not be able to "lock" on you properly and will run in huge circles around you. For example, Utahraptor and Mono\Cryo-lophosaurs from JPHL sometimes were doing that. So don't make animals TOO fast - i once made T-Rex 4-5 times faster, and it was running around me for almost whole minute, while i was standing still.

For Ice Age, there is walking Archeopteryx model (flying as running animation). Give him zombie skin, turn him into giant - you will get Thunderbird-look-a-like from Middle Islands. (i also think you can use that Archeopteryx for normal Ice Age mod... i mean, with normal skin).

I think to make it more difficult - you need to create something like a "Goals". You don't have to do all of them, but you need that, if you want to get higher score (not in-game). The goals such as:

- Survive the start of session.
- Find and kill boss character.
- Find and kill all enemies (huntables, not including ambients and Bosses).

I’m guessing you haven’t played my ice age mod yet. I already have the ground archaeopteryx in there.

Update on my current progress, I have implemented the BOSS BATTLE map into the mod and it is the final map. I had to modify the mosasaur’s health because it would have been killed very easily by any of the weapons in this mod. I have done a lot of play testing, and while it is extremely tough, it is doable. Doesn’t help when the zombie dinosaurs climb over the walls and join in.

I’ve also edited some of the map texts to build a more interesting backstory.

I wanted to add the Towers of Bleak and Mount Henry into the mod, but I found out that they make the hunter too safe. They both have only one spawn point, at ToB you can just quickly jump onto a rock and mount Henry you start out on top of a plateau that prevents the Dino’s from getting to you. I don’t know how to change spawn locations so I am discarding them from this mod.

I have been thinking about the difficulty but I need to gather my thoughts to properly put them into a comment.

Yeah, my bad. Glad you already added them.

Imagine playing on such maps in Carnivores Dinosaur Hunt, where the concept of "i have the high ground!" went extinct. Btw, i actually love Mount Henry for such feature - i hate how sometimes you start hunt only to be instantly killed by random carnivore (almost like DH Corp actively tries to sabotage your hunt). In casual difficulty mods, of course - not this one, here this is part of challenge.

"Glad you already added them" i said that i removed them.

Anyways have you checked out the most recent updates?

I was talking about non-flying Archaeopteryx ambients for ice age. You said you already added them, and i didn't know that before.

I prefer original maps anyway. In future they can be updated with something like corpses of dead dinosaurs as map objects, more fog (or even toxic gas), different sky texture, etc.

Not yet. I kinda busy right now, so haven't tried most of them. Sorry for that.

Well in that case I'll fill you in. Monster moschops at Delphaeus Hills, horde of Lystrosaurs (old model) at object 12, and the final boss battle with the mosasaur.
