New modpack for AoE HD that redesign all the terrains and units.
With the incoming HD remake i was really sad that the only remarkable features where moving water and new weird cliffs.
So i decide to finish something that started 5 years ago and this is the result, i really hope you all enojoy it and have some fun :)
This mod originally started 5 years ago under other name but was abandoned. After a few years and with the incoming remake of AoE i get interested on modding again and decide to start over and redo most of the models and animations to match the HD version of Age of Empires.
This mod will give you unique graphics for all the units.
All the graphics have been designed acording to concept art posted by the Aok Heavens community to be historical accurated but also try to look good enough to justify the re-skin.
In future patches:
The siege units will be replaced by adding new graphics and units pushing and manipulating the siege engine.
The villagers are going to be replaced too giving them unique graphics every time they switch tasks.
Depending on the succed of the mod with the help of some of the best data editing of Aok heavens it would be possible to add complete sets of unit for every building set having 5 different unit sets to match their buildings.
Since 2002 we have explored, played and enjoyed mods of all shapes and sizes just like Aoe 2 HD New units and terrain re-skin. We love games like Age of Empires II HD Edition that have opened themselves up to modding. Because of communities like Workshop, Nexus, Curse, RTSL, GameBanana and Mod DB, more games support modding today than ever before.
Let's celebrate modding
As mods play a bigger role in the future of gaming, we believe it is important to recognize the effort the teams behind the work put in, giving us countless hours of enjoyment while asking nothing in return. We have the power to change our games and that needs to be celebrated to ensure it remains a big part of PC gaming's future.
It all started
In 2015, when the paid modding dispute left many gamers and modders worried about the direction the industry is headed. Things have since settled down, but we believe it is important to continue this small tradition to show we are not alone in our love for mods, and the open platforms that embrace them.
Mod Appreciation Week
Nothing is more motivating than knowing something you've built is being enjoyed by others. So this week if there is a mod you love on Mod DB (or anywhere else), make the effort to shout out to them, mention and link their mod in a tweet, blog, forum or facebook post with the hashtag #modlove2016 (or click the icons above for a pre-built post).
