I've taken up StarCraft II again, which is in short, my favourite RTS of all time. It's a fantastic game!
I began completing the campaign a couple of days ago. At first, I was like:" Nah, whatevs campaigns n' blah blah'. Now, I've discovered what great work has been put into this masterpiece. It has revolutioned the RTS as we know it with interactive gamplay between the missions. You walk around as Jim Raynor, upgrading and speaking with different characters, thus receiving more and more info about the storyline. You also get to do the missions at your own pace, as you can choose what kind of missions you'd like to do. It is though highly recommended that you know your SCII lore, before you throw yourself into it. Else, some things might seem a bit cryptic. But maybe that's just me. I like having a complete story of the games. Especially when they're soooo much better than Warcraft.

Now. WIthout furthere do, I bring to you!!

GUILD WARS 2!

It's finally here! The game we've all waited for. I know you have too!
I''ve been playing the headstart now, for those who pre-purchased it. There have been a couple of errors.
The headstart was about half a day late, because the servers obviously couldn't take the pressure from all the people logging in. They fixed that, now their "Auction House" needs a bit maintenance though.
But the game in itself is very wellworked.

You start off by choosing race, gender, class and details about your looks. Then, you get to choose a storyline. You can actually choose how the lore of your character instead of doing endless quests about killing 8/8 ostriches and delivering their bleeding kidneys to the towns kids. When that is chosen, you'll awaken in a starting place, which is more like a situation you'll have to fight out of. Bonus point, you don't have stay there for half a day. You're in there for five minutes and then you're off for the real world.
Now, you don't have quests in the game. You only have your storyline. You level by walking around the area, discovering its beauty, and clearing sudden situations like. "OH GAWD, THE AWFUL DEMEANING PSYCHOPATHS OF NIGHTMARE COURT IS MARAUDING. HALPZ". And then you're off to kill them. Depending on how active you were you'll get either bronze, silver or a gold medal. The more shiny the prize, the more exp and monzzzz. Now, that's what I like the most about the game personally, because, as mentioned before, you don't have to run around killing creatures 8/8 times and delivering back the quest, and whatevs. If you were in it, you're worth your reward.
The combat system is also much more controllable. In World of Warcraft or Rift, for instance, you have about 30 spells. Here, you have 5. Interchangable by your weapon. So, if you hold a gun, you'll have special gun abilities. If you hold two daggers, you'll have two daggers-abilities. Some spells also change when you use them, so that you can make combos, makig you able to much more viable damage.

More on GW2 and StarCraft II next time. Stay put!
