Report RSS Inspiration for a future project.

So yesterday I bought "Indigo Prophecy" or "Fahrenheit" for myself and a friend of mine over steam. I've been wanting to get it for a while because of the enticing storyline/plot, and the unique gameplay. I haven't gotten around to playing it too much yet, because of school I guess, but I did play it one the Xbox a few years back. I'm hoping that playing through this game again could help develop a good plot for a mod I want to make in the future.

Currently, it has just been my friend Bio, and me talking about the very first steps of development of a HL2 Singleplayer Source Mod. He is quite aquaint with Hammer, and my area of expertise is modeling mostly, but I have picked up a few other skills along the way, such as Faceposer and begun to delve into C++ coding, which is obviously a must for Source mods. I am aware that this is where most teams fail, being unable to get a programmer.

Soon enough, I think in the summer, we'll start applying hands on work towards this mod, but until then we are going to focus on concepts and plot. It'll most likey be a two man team, so we'll obviously have to dedicate lots of time to the project, while gaining new skills along the way. I'm sure we'll end up picking up a few valuable members, one of which will definately be an expertise in the area of sound, such as music and voice acting.

I'm determined to build upon this mod's idea that will not have anything to do with zombies! A few basic ideas I've had for this include all custom hands and weapons, and nearly no default HL2 models. The one thing that I am expecting to be a big issue is custom characters, because I'm not really sure how to go about adding facial flexes to a model, so unless I figure that out sometime in the near future, I'll have to go about keeping the default HL2 heads, and reskinning them, which I really don't want to have to do.
