I've followed the 38 Studios closing, lawsuits and now the bond payment news very closely. Not because I normally follow that kind of thing, but because I was very close to working at 38 Studios (I think). After an interview and an art test I was told they were looking for someone with more experience. I got a job elsewhere and was at work when I first heard about the 38 Studios closing. A few things went through my head at that moment, one of them being relieved that I hadn't moved out there just to lose my job, and the other was a very selfish glee at the studio not making it. I have later felt guilty about that, because there were so many talented people who lost their jobs and a potentially great studio would never get a shot at making games. After all, how many companies nail it on their first game? Very few I imagine.
I hope that all the lawsuits get dropped and while I have no idea what will come from the bond payments or none payment, I do hope that everyone involved with 38 Studios come out of that mess all right.
I kept saying I was " " that close to making it into 38 Studios, but really it was probably " "
