Yo I'm Rela, I love the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, and hardcore mods for it like MISERY and Dead Air. Also a great fan of all FromSoftware's games (especially Bloodborne) and Skyrim (heavily modded ofc). Can't wait for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. Currently working on addons for Dead Air - one (DAOO) bringing a major overhaul to Dead Air's outfits and armors, and one other - an artefact overhaul based on my De Facto Artefacto, that will greatly expand the variety and properties of artefacts.

Report RSS Update on DAOO #1: New text value colors, bug hunting, and new stuff

Posted by on

Dobro pozhalovat', Stalkery!

1. New text value colors
In v1.1EXT I added some new text values for both "modification potential" and "comfort". Like I announced
in patch notes, I now changed their colors to made them more distinctive and simply better looking. Here
are the values:

2. New stuff
Soda_Machine, who already sent me a lot of great models, recently also sent me the pack I was not able to implement into the game, but now in a version designed for CoP. I tested it and it works. Some outfits from the pack will come with Slear Sky update, which will come either with or shortly after Monolith update (which I am currently wroking on). So I can assure you all, Stalkers, that there will be no shortage of content in new updates.

3. Item management
With the new big update I will also try to introduce two new ways of obtaining new outfits - one is related to accessing Monolith suits even if you don't use the Faction Selection add-on, while the other will aim to make trader's shops less chaotic and not overflowing with outfits when in later phases of the game. I don't want to explain what exactly I have in mind with Monolith suits (not yet, at least ;)), but as to the other idea - I will try to implement some kind of either a new dialog window or trading "style", that will let you pay some money to reconfigure your basic Sunrise to change its camo pattern as well as its statistics - this will be the new way of obtaining variations of original suits. I am not sure how I will do it (not yet, at least), but I can almost assure you that this feature will be present in next version.

4. Bug hunting progress
I am still trying to figure out how the svoboda_heavy_outfit bug can be fixed, but to no effect just yet. I am almost convinced that it is some kind of a malfunction on Dead Air's side, but I will keep looking either way.
Similar thing seems to be the case with recently discovered bug that disables the repair of backpacks. I already did some tweaks to them and am testing them, but It's very hard for me to determine what may cause this bug, as I cannot recreate it in my game (tried everything I could think of, visited every technician I could, started new games, etc - to no effect). I will keep looking and update DAOO whenever I find a potential fix. Please let me know if it works for you, and also, please mention:
- what version of Dead Air you are running;
- what other add-ons (if any) you have installed.
The more info I can gather the easier it will be to track this bug down and find a solution.

Thank you for your support and helping with making this add-on as good as it can be. Good hunting, Stalkers.

I'd agree on the chaotic trader inventory with all the new suits at once. I tweaked my trader-files in that regard so the new suits wouldn't show up all at once but rather with a lower probability (~70-80%) on trader refresh.
I'm keen to see what you come up with on the new camo-config etc. :D
