Yo I'm Rela, I love the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series, and hardcore mods for it like MISERY and Dead Air. Also a great fan of all FromSoftware's games (especially Bloodborne) and Skyrim (heavily modded ofc). Can't wait for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. Currently working on addons for Dead Air - one (DAOO) bringing a major overhaul to Dead Air's outfits and armors, and one other - an artefact overhaul based on my De Facto Artefacto, that will greatly expand the variety and properties of artefacts.

Report RSS Finally found the culprit!

Posted by on

After what seems to be an infinite number of hours that went into this, I finally found the culprit behind the infamous spawn bug. I never would have expected that this was not actually a script, not even a config file, but a ... plugin config instead.

The file consists of a list of all items blocked from spawning in containers. This file was... surprisingly, abscent from all addons that I looked into for advice. But now, the wait has come to an end. I will edit it and post an update as soon as I do all the required testing and make sure the bug is gone once and for all. The sad part is that all loot is already determined when starting a new game, so for clean experience a new game with this patch will be required.

File path to the culprit: gamedata\configs\plugins\coc_treasure_manager.ltx. Seems obvious, but I never considered even looking there. Anyway - I finally found it, and that's what matters!

See you soon, Stalkers!

Nice find.

Personally I don't mind the chance to find high-tier equip early on in DA. In my personal experience I have only found the Merc Seva Mk2 in stashes in 2 or 3 games. Yet the only other items from DAAO I have found in stashes were CCRMs and that nifty merc bagpack ;D.

I would agree that finding a 100% high or top-tier suit in an early stash could be breaking or at least stretching the balance. But then again if the NPC AI is looting stashes as they are in DA chances of actually finding such a good suit are even further diminished. I once found one of those Merc Seva Mk2 on a mercenary that had just looted the spot I was going for (the scumbag!). Also: everytime I found that particular suit it was in quite bad a condition and it took me some time to actually muster up the funds to get it repaired.
