Well, i don't have a lot of stuff to create whole game page, so for the moment, i will post all info in my blog.
Refraction is Unreal Engine powered uncommon TD game, there are almost no attacking towers. There are Generators, special towers, which, being placed in well enlightened places, start to generate laser beam. Another towers only handle this beam, redirecting, amplifying or splitting it, and combining several beams into one. Manipulating beams, you need to set up your defence. Every tower can be manually rotated, so your defence structure is quite flexible. Also, i think about including new different tower types, for example, elemental changing towers (creating frost/venomous beams) or autotargeting turrets.
Besides defence gameplay, i want to include some another objectives, for example, try to hit all targets on level with beam, having limited towers count (Puzzle mod).
For now, i'm working on basic gameplay background - scripting towers and making building system. Common tower types are finished, and i'm creating Worker now - unit, which will build towers and gather resources. After building system, i will make enemies and AI for them, basic gameplay (waves etc), and only then i will start to make some level design.
I want to mention, that i'm working alone for now. I don't have to much content to show, because, i'm working on this project only one month (combined with exams). Also, i'm programmer, i don't have any content creation skills (my first model was done month ago), and all concept i have is in my head. So art is quite terrible. I hope, i will find some artists soon, to make all this looking better.
Well, finally, there is latest demonstration video, showing all common towers.
