Before I ever started this zany blog, I was pretty ignorant of blogs in general. I always saw them as pretty vain and something that only narcissistic people were interested in. As Jr. Jellybeans has grown, however, I’ve seen it as a great tool to let fans know what I’m doing. That and I’m a narcissistic little prick.

Lately, I’ve been trying to make more friends online (that’s the cause of the recent writings about Social Media Marketing). Generally speaking, I’m just trying to not hold my tongue and offer valuable advice to people that need it.

As part of that, I’ve been using WordPress to locate other indie game developers. I’m trying to search “indie game” or other phrases like that into the keyword searcher. I’ve always enjoyed reading other indie blogs provided that they’re well written and seemingly intelligent.

So, it’s to my great disappointed that the majority of the keyword searches I’ve been looking up point me to what seem to just be SPAM services.

Take, for example, the keyword “Flash Games.” I was expecting to be able to meet some new and upcoming designers or seasoned veterans with several games under their belt. Unfortunately, what I actually got was a bunch of pages promoting their own outsourcing company. It makes me sad that their seem to be so few people interested in indie games on WordPress blog.

In the long run, I could always just subscribe to other people’s blogs and such. But, that’s not quite the same as being connected to people within the same network…

If you’re an indie developer of any kind, NOT just Flash, be sure to write to me! I’d love to be friends with you and we can discuss all of the new and exciting opportunities out there!
