So, Tower Defense">Earth Tower Defense has been up for bid on the wonderful Flash Games License for about six days. Six days of time should be enough for the offers to start flowing in like rain. Soon, I’ll be living the high life drinking a High Life!
Actually, the game hasn’t received any bids yet. I’m not really sure why, although I’ve heard that Flash Games License tends to take a long time. I’ve heard a recommendation of waiting, at least, 3 weeks before expecting anything. In my usual optimistic self I kind of thought that Earth Tower Defense would be worth it a little more. After all, I worked on Earth Tower Defense full time for 2 months. It’s a little… humbling to see my hard work reduced to any regular game.
I also wrote to all of the sponsors listed on the BIG LIST OF FLASH GAME SPONSORS. A couple of the companies that I wrote to have viewed the game. Still, not bids.
In general, I really don’t like to wait. I find it really annoying, so this experience will, hopefully, teach me some patience. I also guess that I can understand the no bids. The art in the game is pretty cruddy. I’m looking to find someone else to redo the art, but, well, Jr. Jellybeans has always had bad luck when it comes to art. The game does have a couple of trackers, however. I’m not sure who the trackers are, however, because I can’t see them.
So, I keep trying to think of a back up plan if this whole sponsorship thing doesn’t work out. The best idea I’ve come up with is to release the game anyways, redo a different game with updated and hope for the best. That sounds like a good idea to me, but I hope it doesn’t come to that.
In any case, I’m keeping track of who’s viewing what and for how long. I plan to do a huge post mortum on Earth Tower Defense. I will definitely make this available to the wider public, so stay tuned for the news.
