Hey there, my fellow indie db'ers. I haven't really spent much time here over the past year, up until the last week or so. I'm really loving the site/community and some of the games I'm seeing made are downright amazing.

I would love to see a bit more feedback on the things I'm posting, but I guess that will come the more active I am here. (or depending on the quality of my work!)

So my new game, tentatively titled, "Moved by Darkness", is really shaping up to be something special in my mind. Yeah, I know, ideas are cheap and it doesn't mean shit until I can manifest it. The thing is, it's getting me excited and passionate about the project, and that's key for me.

I've decided to really focus on the black and white composition in the game. I've also wanted to pay homage to all of those awesome black and white horror movies from the past. I've really finally got an overall feel that I am happy with, and now it's time to start finding the game that's buried away inside of my head. To start chipping away at the pieces until the hidden artifact underneath starts to show. It's kinda like it's always been there, only it's completely covered up and I'll I'm doing is just clearing away the dirt and debris to reveal it.

I'm having visions of all these different spectacular scenes playing out in my mind. I can clearly visualize a ton of stuff that's coming and it's really got me excited. I am super thrilled to be doing FMV and having access to some of the minds that pioneered it in games, back in the day, is going to be a great resource.

I'm going to be doing some video recording later tonight and adding the first couple of FMV sequences into my demo. I've got the process down nicely and I'm excited to start seeing some of this materialize in the game.

I'm really interested in your feedback, so if you read this, please check out the demo on my site, movedbydarkness.com and come back to leave some impressions or ideas.

I'm tossing around a lot of ideas for the story. So I'm envisioning all of these characters acting out scenes and trying to think bout why they would all be together or entwined in the same story. Then, the Shining popped into my head.

The whole concept of having a significant part of the story play out in a hotel, really makes sense to me. The only thing is, I don't want to do something that's been over done, and I'm wondering if the whole "Haunted Hotel" thing is too played out or even appealing to people at all. I feel like what I'm doing would definitely be a unique way to present it, though.

Just not quite sure.

So I guess I'll keep chipping away as the story unveils itself to me.

Thanks for listening.
