Everybody loves art? The answer is yes (If someone hates art then he/she must have dark soul and must be cleansed by holy water). Just kidding, just kidding. Here i will share my way for drawing a pop culture in 21th century: drawing a manga char.

Step 1

The first part is defining the head form. This is common knowledge as you people should know how to make it. Creating the guideline for placing the eyes, nose and mouth. By doing so you can easily see the form which direction the head is facing.

Step 2

This part is about creating a guideline for defining body part. I feel it is helpful to use the guideline (red line) so when i draw i didnt go out of track.

Step 3

Making a pose based on how guideline flows. Wheee ... am i right??... The guideline is some kind of magic trick XD

Step 4

Next part is finishing a head part (from hair, eyes, mouth, nose part). I think you dont have any difficulty in finishing drawing the head part.

Step 5

Finished the hands part and the costume. Oh i decided to give her a winter costume, BRZZZZ so freezing eh? XD

Step 6

Now for lower part of character, you can draw her with skirts or shorts or trousers as you like.
I choose the skirts, even tho it didnt match with the winter jacket XD

Step 7

Step7: Raise Hell!!! Oops sorry this is not Call of Duty Black Ops XD Well you almost done drawing the lineart for your character.

Step 8

If you already finished, just clean the remaining guidelines because we dont need it anymore. And congratulation you got to this step finishing your lineart :D Hopefully the guideline usage is useful for you.

Step 9

Now coloring part. Defining some color as base color for next step. Color jacket, skirt, hair and stocking with color of your own choice.

Step 10

Defining a color sometimes harder for few people. Trying to get which way the darker place should be. It is simple, just try to imagine where the light source position is, so you can define the light direction. Here, i use upper left most as where the light come from so the darker part should be lower right.

Step 11

In this picture i added some darker color to make my character more natural. This is optional, but if you want to do this too, you are very very welcome

Step 12 Final Part

Eye part ... i leave it for the last. I simply add darker colour for shadow part and softer color for lower part. Dont forget, adding a light reflection will give a natural look to your character. This is important part, in my opinion. If you have different style of how you draw the eye, it's not a problem.

Done picture!

Tadaaaa ... it's magic. Done!! If you have problem, tell me :D
I hope this helps, since i am a newbie too in digital drawing but this tutorial is based on how i did most picture (you won't find pictures i made here because i uploaded them in other place) XD

Note:
Character : Archon ... based on starcraft :D (drawing archon in girl form is also "WOW" for me)
I guess the right universe is not starcraft, but girlcraft XD
