During a playthrough of GC on the Clone Wars mod, one of my most favorite battles was the siege of Bomis Koori IV, which was a bit tricky but I will retell it to you in the form of a narrative.
The ARC troopers landed on the planet to begin the siege of Bomis Koori IV. Following them were some ARF troopers and an AT-TE. ARC trooper Fives was sent east of the landing point to capture another landing zone. But as he got there, to our surprise enemy tanks were gathered there already. So I ordered Fives to head back to the others. When he got there, everyone was ordered into the AT-TE and then it was sent over to that landing zone Fives initially went to. Slowly, it walked there, and when it got there the enemy assault tanks attacked us, to my surprise almost destroying the AT-TE. But after a few rounds from its cannon, the enemy fled. Luckily we had no casualties. I sent out the ARCs to capture the landing zone and set up a repair station for the AT-TE, and they have successfully done so. After that, I sent down an AV-7 cannon and deployed it. Out of nowhere the enemy tanks rushed in and destroyed the cannon and then went to hiding again. I sent out the ARF troopers and with a sensor ping, I scanned the entire area and saw what we were up against. The CIS had a massive army, mostly consisting of the Ground Armored Tanks that attacked us, an AAT, and some droid garrisons. I ordered everyone back into the AT-TE and sent it down south to capture the last landing zone. We encountered no problems this time and upon capturing it, I sent down Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and his padawan Ahsoka Tano and also a platoon of 212th infantry clone soldiers and another AV-7, and deployed it. Now, the Republic is finally on the offensive.
I sent out two ARF troopers and pinged ahead to see if there were hostiles. After it was safe I sent them ahead to set up some defenses in case the enemy attacks, and they did. All the tanks came and tried to kill the ARF troopers but they went invisible and the anti-vehicle turrets they built destroyed them all. I sent the Jedi and platoon up and following them the AT-TE and AV-7. I sent out all of the ARF troopers and pinged the entire area and saw what was left. Mostly infantry, and their entire base which was shielded and defended by rows and rows of turbolaser towers. Initially I used bombing runs and orbital bombardments to one-by-one take out their semi-exposed walls and outside turbolasers. This still wouldn’t be enough, so I tried to see if I could target the power generator, which powered all the turbolasers and the shields so that was in important target. I realized I could, and did both a bombing run and an orbital strike and thereafter the enemy base shields were offline. I sent in the Jedi and clones to siege the base, which was tricky with all their garrisons and turrets, but with the help of the artillery, it was possible and the base was successfully sieged. Lastly, I sent the jedi and clones all back with the others for a final orbital strike to end it. When they returned everybody cheered and congratulated each other. We were victorious! In the end, the only loss we had was the one AV-7 in contrast to their entire garrison. This quickly became one of the Republic’s main strongholds because of the trouble I had to capture it.
