As CG artists and designers, we were frustrated with the selection of textures available to creatives. A single image on a stock site is very costly or we had to buy a library or a pack filled with textures we didn't need. We decided to rectify the situation and created a new resource, episcura.com.
Our site offers royalty-free seamless textures, HDRI and snapshots. Artists can sign up and download 15MB daily for free. New images are added weekly and we're testing a free page that won't count against users' download bandwidth. Paid monthly subscriptions are available for more bandwidth. We're also planning to launch a contest with a cash prize in the future and a blog to share ideas and tutorials.
Of course, artists can find us on Twitter and Facebook. We'd love to hear from people and get some feedback. Our founders are all from the VFX world, so they would very much appreciate feedback from the gaming universe. Recently, a game dev informed us that square textures are preferred, so we're working on adding more square images of our seamless images to sets. Let us know if you have any questions or comments.
