In 2000, Raven Software released the source code to their class based shooter game Hexen II and its multiplayer extension HexenWorld. Since then, there has been some source ports of this game, such as the now discontinued Anvil of Thyrion project, but nothing has been done for Linux since the beginning of 2002.

The Hammer of Thyrion project is a cross-platform source port effort: Development for Linux, BSD and Mac OS X people, with continued support for Windows users as well. Many bugs are fixed and even new features are added: New sound modes, improved mouse handling, improved video modes, OpenGL glows and more. You can go to project page for more information.

This port helped me playing my original Hexen 2 game in higher resolutions than ones supported by the game in it's original version. There wasn't support for modern graphic cards,so I could only play in resolutions not more than 640x480.But with the "Hexen II: Hammer of Thyrion" source port,I could play it supported by OpenGL rendererer,up to really big resolutions for wide screen monitors.

I would like to thank everybody involved in
Hexen II: Hammer of Thyrion project for making all this possible, and letting me enjoy in this beautiful game classic.I recommend this port to everybody who have Hexen 2 game CD.All you have to do is install latest patch, and port. After that, everything will work like a charm.

Hexen II: Hammer of Thyrion team, you rock!Thank you for all your effort.
