Well... Hello, I'm John, I'm 18, and I've always aspired to do some form of entertainment media. For a long time, I was undecided between films and gaming, but I've finally decided on gaming (about a year ago actually) due to the fact there is more room to place things, little tidbits, quality. A film is limited to 2 hours usually, and I just couldn't see myself being able to work within those sort of limitations. Thus, the interactivity and somewhat loose limits of gaming intrigued me. I'm currently actively partaking in a Game Design course through Mountwest Community and Technical Center (MCTC) in Huntington, WV. It kicks ass, and we're moving into our new campus in the Spring! I'm currently looking for a team to either start an indie project or begin modding with. Thus far, my skills are mostly in Mapping, although I'm looking to improve in all areas. I play music in my spare time, enjoy motorcycles, cars and mechanical things of all sorts.

Woo! Got a new GPU recently, snagged a EVGA GTX 460 SE SC for cheap recently and got it installed. Computer's running graphics-heavy apps and most games gorgeously now, even on the pre-historic Pentium D CPU. Got some computer build plans together as well, as follows:

Current Specs:

CPU: Pentium D 2.8GHz Dual-Core
GPU: EVGA GTX 460 SE SC 1GB GDDR5 VRAM
MOBO: Intel 945P Chipset
RAM: 512MB x2
PSU: Corsair 500w
OS: Windows XP Media Center Edition SP3

Relatively stock Dell XPS 400 from a while back, not a huge problem, most people trash these computers but mine has outlasted every single one of my friends' built/bought systems AND given me less problems with more solid and consistent performance, so I'm relatively satisfied with it overall... But, its coming time to finally upgrade to something beefier, with more space and better capability of keeping step with ever progressively more complex graphics. So, I had this little build blue-print in mind:

CPU: Intel Core i5-540
GPU: GTX 460 SE SC 1GB DDR5 VRAM x2 in SLI mode
MOBO: ASUS P7P55D-E Pro LGA 1156 Intel P55
RAM: 4GB Kingston DDR3 x1 (subject to change, dependent on OS)
PSU: Antec High Current Pro 1200w
OS: Undecided

I'm honestly unsure on the OS. I'm hungry for the new DX10/11 features, but I'm fond of my nice stable XP, so I'm just really torn... But I think that will keep me pretty satisfied for a while... Write in if you see any problems or have any suggestions. :D
