I downloaded the Ebook , there is a lot of information to take in all at once. In fact it took me three days on and off to finish it, and I'm normally a fast reader.
This book should be required reading for everyone who wants to make a mod in the Half Life universe. It was really helpful in understanding what into making Half Life 2. Some of the worst mods blatantly ignore the details Valve put into the game, and those tend to be the worst ones IMO, while the best Half Life 2 "in universe" mods tend to fallow or improve on Valve's system. Total conversions that are not "in universe" are irrelevant went it comes too this subject.
I won't tell you were to download the Ebook version, but I will hint that Half Life 2 Raising the Bar is available on torrents.
