Strategy:AOE,StarCraft(Who knows how much money blizzard made after my cd-rom shredded 2-3 copies of my SC:BW) MMORPG:Ultima Online was my obsession once(Stupid T.N.L.= Trammel Newbie Looters) I am currently working on my game Crazy GoldRush:Dredging by myself which at times can feel like a lot of work. So to give a better idea of what this game will be like, I wanted to include my personal Future Updates. This is a list of things already added or soon to be added in the near future if everything goes smoothly.



Future Updates


--Random Events
**-Pirates, Funny Messages, Kraken Attack
The random events will make the game more interesting. My goal is to create as many events as possible. So far ones I am willing to share are the Pirate Attack and the Kraken Attack.

Those damn pirates! They are attracted to Gold........ obviously I mean they are pirates right? So the more gold you have on you the more your a target. The best advice here will be to sell your gold at the Gold Market often to avoid increased Pirate activity and loss of gold.
The Kraken attack is more random than pirates. When future updates enable dredge upgrades, frequency of Random Events like Pirates/Krakens will be decreased with each upgrade. If a starter dredge get's attacked by the Kraken and the player has enough Cash to replace it the game will continue. Otherwise Game Over........ At least for now.

***--Create Gold Market
The gold market is already designated by the . In the future hopefully these 2D Sprites will all be replaced by 3D/2D Sprites. The Gold Market's purpose currently is to sell your gold that you dredge to convert it to Cash. Originally I had it so you could do that anywhere from the open sea. The problem with that is it made controlling random events difficult. So I created a fixed location that you will have to return to in order to Sell your Gold for Cash. Future updates will change the way this system works.Think fluctuating Gold prices. See more down below.

Gold tips at tavern
Gold tips would be like hints about Gold Deposits/Random Events or even tipoff's about Claims in the future. Still an idea at this point as there is no tavern yet.

**--NPC's/AI-To compete against in single player
This has already been created. For now there is at least one competitor for you to compete against. In the future I intend to incorporate more NPC's for Single Player. I haven't decided on whether NPC's will be incorporated into Multiplayer in the future. For now NPC's dredge and sell just like players would.


--Characters for dredges-Possibily different roles/skills for characters.
Characters are something that won't be introduced till later own. The idea is that you could expand your empire by hiring other characters. Each character holds a different skill and depending on how much you pay that character and their professionalism depends on how well your dredge will do with that crew. SO it might be wise to hire someone not drunk at the tavern all the time........ Maybe someone from the Docks working hard would be a better crewman eh?

***--Create Bank
For now the Bank/Gold Market remain the same thing
**--Fuel - To power your dredge
Fuel is a critical part of the game. Without fuel you will be left stranded on the sea! Who knows what you'll have to do to survive.......... This is why there is a Fueling Station for dredges. Just like the Gold Market you will have to bring your dredge over to the docks and it will activate the option to buy more fuel. Of course you have to sell your Gold to get Cash to buy more Fuel. So don't be cruising around waving at the hot mermaids all day instead of refueling!!!! Every movement you make is going to cost you precious fuel. Currently dredging gold does not reduce fuel just traveling to and back.

--Diving Gear & Upgrades-Will change your diving level
As your dredge upgrades increase, your ability to hire crew (Different Characters/different Professions) will affect your diving rate based on their Experience and Professionalism. Diving gear will also factor in. No one wants to work on a dredge where you have really crappy diving gear...... I know I wouldn't use a garden hose for my air supply........ would you? Of course all of this will change your dredging rate or frequency of random events.

--Sluce & Upgrades-Changes your gold sluicing time & level
Sluicing your gold will be introduced later on. So Gold will be bumped back in the process. By that I mean it will be replaced with PayDirt. PayDirt will be what your Dredge collects instead of gold. You will take your collected PayDirt back to the Gold Market or even the Player's Home Base(Not implemented yet). There the player will sluice his gold and depending on the equipment used depends on the turnout of your gold amount. For starting players Gold Sluicing will probably happen at the Gold Market. There players will have to pay a small fee to have the Gold Market do their work for them till they have enough capital to own their own Sluicing Equipment.

--Mining Claims-Claims will require certain requisites and a fee.
Mining Claims are something that will be implemented sooner than later. As your dredging empire starts to get going you will need better places to dredge. So once you reach a certain upgrade you will qualify (Cash Permitting) to purchase a claim to dredge in.

--Add Weather-Will determine random events(Storms/Monsters/Damage)Weather is still an idea at this point. Though imagine what a pain in the ass it would be to wake up go to work just to find out the weather is too harsh to work.... It would suck. So weather would be a interesting factor in dredging. Forcing you to choose between risking your dredging operation for more gold vs destruction.

--Add Player Dock-Place for the player to dock his dredge and return to base
This is pretty straight forward as mentioned above in Sluicing. The player would have his own dock in which he could return to the Players Home Base to do things like Sluice, Upgrade Sluicing and more things yet to be discussed.

--Add Multiplayer
The MP aspect of this game is hush hush right now as single player development progresses. I have some very interesting ideas that I will share in future Blogs but for now just know......... IT IS EXPECTED!!!! Also it's perhaps one of the most interesting features to me because I don't know of any other MP resource games.


So I hope you have all enjoyed my detailed breakdown of what this game has now and what it will have in the future.

My goal is to make this game as interesting and amusing as possible. A cross between Oregon Trails "You've died of Small Pox!" and realistic resource simulation. I already have ideas to expand this game in the future as there are many aspects of Mining I want to create. But I won't get in to that now.
