Report RSS Tales From the Battlefield: Star Wars Battlefront 2

I was finishing up some school today when I started reminiscing about the epic battles I had in SWBF2. I then realized that they'd be great to share on ModDB, considering the amount of Star Wars lovers on there. Thus, Tales From the Battlefield was created. I'll be talking about the many fun (and real!) times I've had in many different games. To start off the first one, here's one of my favorite moments from SWBF2...

Picture this: Space Mygeeto. Clone Wars.

As a Clone Pilot, I sprinted through the hanger to one of the Clone transport ships. Loaded up and waited for more clones to join me. Once I had a full crew, I departed the hanger towards the enemy flagship. Avoiding the massive turrets located on either side of the docking bay, I flew the transport into the heart of the CIS ship. Normally I'm the only Clone who gets out and goes on a killing rampage while the others use the ship to attempt to exit the flagship and usually fail miserably before blowing up. Needless to say it surprised me greatly when instead of flying off, every clone in the ship disembarked along with me. Along with my few fellow clones, we waged war inside the belly of the CIS flagship. In fact, I don't remember if any droid ended up leaving the ship. And even when one of the clones died, another would spawn from the transport I had flown in (if you don't remember, transports acted as mobile spawn bases). Thus, we had quite possibly the largest scale battle inside the CIS flagship that I have ever seen. Clones spawning around the transport and immediately entering the fray against the droids lined up before them was quite impressive. I fought for several minutes before I headed to my real objective: the internal systems of the CIS flagship. From the upper deck before entering the control center of the flagship, I watched with pride as my clones decimated the defenders. I entered the inner workings of the ship and systematically destroyed the auto turrets before detonating the engines, shields, life support and auto turret support systems. I went back to the hanger to find my clones had dominated the ships crew. With only moments left before victory, I left the CIS flagship and waited as the victory screen appeared.

Now as crazy as that story may sound, I had never experienced anything like that before. And I love space battles. I've tried to reproduce the same thing but I haven't been able to, despite trying very hard. Needless to say, that was one of my favorite moments of SWBF2. What are yours?

Mine was reversed (Kinda). ME and a few mates were defending the Control room on our ship against countless waves of enemy droids. Too many to fight through, so we had to wait it out. After a long and exhausting battle. The victory screen appeared, while they were attacking us, a few other players had infiltrated and destroyed their systems. That was a good team..

Love space too btw. ;) Only land map I like is Hoth with XL unit numbers and then fly around in a Snow Speeder xD

Haha, nice! If I had to choose a land map, it would probably be the original Geonosis map from SWBF1. I'd get into a Republic gunship and sit in the air. If you remember correctly, those could just stay in one spot. I'd get upwards of 100+ kills per game with no deaths.

The trick is to land several times and then they disembark. Also try landing two LAAT's which is even more fun.
