For today's Tale From the Battlefield, I'll recount one of my games from yesterday. I had taken a break from standard FPS gaming (aka Call of Duty 4) for about two weeks, playing instead Bastion (which if you haven't played, you should. Do it. Now. NOW! Ahem.) and working on the Water Gun Wars mode for Platinum Arts Sandbox 3D Game Maker. It was a quite enjoyable break, as with WGW I was working with some community members most of the time.
Yesterday however, I decided to see if the two weeks off had dented my "skills" in Call of Duty 4. Surprisingly, it hadn't. In fact, those two weeks made me better. I started off with one of my custom classes, Skorpion with Stopping Power, Triple Frag, and one other (can't remember). Secondary weapon was the Deagle. My first two kills also provided two deaths. One k/d. I figured I'd be happy if I managed to get a positive k/d for my first game, but I ended up getting a 7-1 killstreak my next life. It was rather exhilarating coming back and dominating the same group of people who for the longest time somehow managed to beat my relatively fast trigger finger. I guess two weeks off helps a lot.
But that wasn't the end. I managed to get another Airstrike and had a 2-1 k/d for the entire game... until Call of Duty 4 crashed. Just another reason why I need a new computer. I came back in and managed to do just as good in the same game. At the end I was third place, after having come in half-way through the second time around, although if CoD4 hadn't crashed, I would have easily been first. Our team won and that made me glad.
Okay, now that the story is over, I want to try something. Once I'll post this, I'll delete and undelete it immediately. Feillyne notified those of us who had wanted blog updates that this would allow the trackers to be updated. So, if this works, let me know in the comments! And if you got this far, thanks for reading! - Arcones
Love the blog design! =)
Thanks Admiral! I hope to get some more designs going soon as well :)
After reading over it, I found some whiter spots where it's hard to see the text. I have a couple of ideas:
1. Leave it, it may not bother others.
2. Simply rework the background a little so that said spots are fixed.
3. Choose a different text color.
Personally, I think 2 might be the easiest, as I'm only changing the background, instead of the buttons and header and text color.
Thoughts?
Turn down the brightness and contrast a little bit, so the background appears darker.
Ah, good idea! I hadn't thought about that :)
Maybe 2, or 3. Either way I think it will make it easier to see =)
I'm still waiting for Seven-Part 3...
xD.
Yeah, I'm lazy :P
Hopefully I can get it out soon... *winks*
Cool design, and the update thing seems to work :)
Woohoo!
That's awesome.
Yeah :)
