Howdy pals!
It's been a hot minute since I was active on ModDB. According to my blog it's been roughly two years (which is insane) and I'm approaching 8 years as a member of the site. Hilariously my rank hasn't changed all that much over that time.
I'm sort of taking a page out of Sab3r's book and giving a life update because I realized I spent a lot of time here and then just dipped (shocker). The last two years have been filled with a lot of ups and downs. Biggest downs for sure were the loss of a relationship and having to stop playing frisbee, the latter of which is a big deal if you know me. But the ups have been great. I've worked a lot on my writing and finished a short story in January of last year. I was able to have it professionally edited and published on Amazon! That was a big deal for me and a huge encouragement when so many people visibly supported me.
The other thing that took off in a surprising way was music. I'd always been interested, had a piano tutor when I was younger but only maintained my skill over the years. 2018 was a huge stepping stone and through the encouragement of a close friend, I ended recording an EP that I published across Amazon, iTunes, Spotify, Google, etc. Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought that would be possible!
The downside to all of this was I basically spent the year pursuing a bunch of great things but completely ignoring school. As a result I'm having to refocus this year and while I don't regret how I spent my time in 2018, I learned that I do need to finish school to pursue the things that really interest me. So this year my goal is to start paralegal studies at a local college and hopefully finish that in the next year and a half. I'll keep up with my writing and music since I have a ton of plans for both of those and I'll need them to stay sane.
