I don't know about you guys, but I've been using the ModDB login which can be linked to either your Facebook, Twitter, Google, or Steam (my choice being Google) and consequently I see a lot of the news post that appear on the front page. Something that I've noticed and has really impressed me, is the amount of games being released on Desura. And not only just games, but games that actually look good and not thrown together. That is very inspiring.

Another interesting trait about those games, is that more and more seem to be built off Unity 3D, which is not only great for the engine but quite surprising as well, considering Unity is the "kid" on the block these days. If things continue this way, I can only imagine what the future will hold for ModDB, IndieDB, and Desura.

Now, as most of you have been seeing, I've been working a lot with Platinum Arts Sandbox recently, and most of you know what that is. For those who don't, it's a free 3D game engine, which is still in development and is based off the Cube 2/Sauerbraten Engine. For the most part, I've been working on maps for the upcoming 2.8 release which will debut Water Gun Wars, a kid-friendly FPS. So far, I've helped make three and test another. They all look great, but it'd be fantastic if we had more people playing. At the moment, there is a masterserver up, so if you're at all curious, follow the instructions on the wiki and join us one of these days! The more the merrier!

I've also been working on my little hobby in Sandbox, which is essentially one giant city. I don't know if I'll turn it into a game, but if I do, it'd be more open world, without too many objectives, but enough to keep the player occupied without stifling the adventuring spirit. There is an outside possibility that I might end up joining with another mapper (Kid_Matthew) to merge our two projects together. Personally, I believe that'd be great, although I'm not sure whether it end up as a game either. There would need to be a lot of work put into it before that happened. Oh, and a GDD. I learned the hard way with Dark Tunnels that GDD's are incredibly important. That's why I'm holding off on making any game at the moment.

"I Am Seven" is not on hold at the moment, although you could kinda say that my inactivity means that it is, but I just haven't had time to work on it. I was going to try and write some yesterday, but had was inconveniently interrupted from writing by a house showing. Meaning I never got to it. I don't mean to say that I haven't written since Part 2. In fact, I have a section I could place up on ModDB right now, but it wouldn't end at the right point and I'd rather have a really long section than a shorter section that leaves you right in the middle of a test or any other scenario. That's my dilemma at the moment. Hopefully I can find time to write and subsequently post another part up here soon!
