Hello all game developers interested in terrifying the daylight, star-light, and soul-light out of players (if this is not you, you need not apply)!

I'm starting up a brand new horror project called "Gehenna," the concept and gameplay of which has been decided. It will be created using the new UE4 engine, and will be a puzzle-solving/survival-horror game. More information at the bottom of this post.

I am currently seeking:

- A skilled co-writer who can handle dialogue, back-story, and help integrate this into the gameplay and level design.

- A 3D modeller/animator capable of creating and rigging basic character/creature models.

- An additional 3D modeller who can focus on static objects that are part of scenery or can be picked up, but have no animations.

- A concept artist.

- A programmer familiar with Java or C++ (it's mostly the logic you need to know solidly, as UE4 has a visual scripting option if you prefer)

- MOST IMPORTANTLY: DEDICATION!

I personally will be handling some programming tasks, level design, implementation of assets into UE4 (including creating VFX, materials, and particles), gameplay design, and the core of the writing (dialogue and back-story). My immediate need is for a programmer who can begin prototyping some of the major gameplay elements and a writer who I can collaborate with in crafting the introduction and first levels of the game.

Here is a brief overview of the game:

Title: Gehenna

Basic Story:

"A young man of 20 years named John wakes up to find himself in a pitch black room. A light turns on and a gruff voice says "You're awake." The voice belongs to Satan, who sits in a chair opposite John and lays his arms on the table (only his arms, which are thin and practically skeletal, are visible to the player). The devil is interviewing John for hell, and says that they will need to go over his qualifications one at a time.

John has no recollection of anything, and when he asks Satan what he's talking about, Satan replies "Your crimes, John. Lives that you sent to heaven, outside of my reach. You're practically an angel, really, but in the eyes of God, you're just a no-good son who ran away from home and never called." Satan then pulls out some papers and goes over each person that John murdered in life one at a time.

John does not remember, but he was a serial killer. His pattern was to kill people who fell in love with him, because his mind (which has a voice of its own) would convince him that they were out to ruin his life.

The voice in John's head tells John to call him "Freddy." Freddy explains that he is John's mind/conscience and will act as his advisor since he can remember everything that happened, but John can't. John and Freddy proceed to go through his memories one at a time so that a final verdict can be made on John's soul."

Features:
- Focus on terrifying the player through a well-crafted story, character development, immersion in a dark and frightening world, and environmental puzzle-solving.

- Realistic environmental puzzle-solving that allows the player to pick up and use any object that would realistically be usable; There will always be multiple ways to approach any given problem.

- High level of immersion by taking out musical cues, removing the HUD and menus, and forcing the player to strike a balance between physical well-being and mental sanity in-game.

- Unique and varied enemies that pose a serious threat and are a key component to puzzle-solving.

- A true, hardcore survival horror experience that is dark, unforgiving, and never lets up.
