Hi,

We are looking for a freelance 2D environment & asset artist for our 2 player sci-fi co-op game Sneaksneak, a game about teamwork and stealth. The prototype of Sneaksneak has been featured on several gaming events, won a Dutch Game Award in 2012 and got a honorable mention at the 2013 IGF awards. The game is to be released on PS4, PS3, Xbox One and Steam.

What we’re looking for:
You can produce production quality 2D art
You have basic knowledge of 3D software
You can work with geometric shapes
You can collaborate with another artist

While working on this project you’ll be responsible for further developing and visualizing our core concept for constructions used in human planetary exploration, hundreds of years in the future. Your art will be vital for gameplay and story progression.

The environments you’ll be working on consist mainly of clean geometric constructions with straight edges. These constructions are themselves constructed of modules known as truncated octahedrons. The image linked to below illustrates well what one of these constructions looks like.

This image also shows the level of quality we’re aiming for. You would be responsible for taking this basic concept and mold it into assets we could use in-game, like 2D platforms with perspective, background pieces etc.

During this project you’ll be collaborating with another artist. The red fibers coming out of the construction in the image above is what he’ll be focusing on, along with many other types of alien nature. As you can see, the clean geometric construction and the red fibers need to be able to integrate nicely and should form an interesting contrast.

There are still many design choices to be made, so there’s a lot of creative freedom to be had. You will have a big part in expanding upon this core concept.

Ideally you’d be able to work on the project around 3 days a week for several months. Contact will go through Skype once or twice a week on set times, and through email.

If this has peaked your interest, please send a mail with your portfolio to jonathan [at] frambosa [dot] com and we can discuss the project and the concept in more detail.

I hope to hear from you soon!

Cheers,

Jonathan
