A WARHAMMER 40,000 MOVIE takes place in the vast, dystopian science fantasy setting of Games Workshop’s table-top strategy war game, Warhammer 40,000. Spanning a huge fictional universe, the Imperium of Man – a decentralised but totalitarian interstellar regime - interacts with various factions and races of aliens, including the Tau, the Eldar, the Necrons, the Tyranids and the Orks, battling against the forces of evil, the Daemons of Chaos who live in a parallel dimension, the Warp. Mankind’s defences are formed primarily of the Imperial Guard, huge in numbers, and the genetically-enhanced, elite super-warriors, the Space Marines, also known as the Adeptus Astartes. Devotedly loyal to the Emperor and followers of the Codex Astartes (the book of doctrine for all Space Marine chapters), they are the finest and most feared of all fighting forces in the Imperium. With more than a thousand chapters (each of a thousand men) including the Space Wolves, the Blood Angels, the Imperial Fists and the traitorous Chaos Space Marines, each chapter has distinctive characteristics, armour and weaponry: The Ultramarines are considered by many to be the most powerful, the most courageous and the most unswervingly-loyal of all the Space Marine Chapters. Created more than 30 years ago, today Warhammer 40,000 is played in thousands of Games Workshop’s hobby centres, schools and clubs around the world, appealing to those that enjoy tactical gameplay as well the skilled painting of miniatures. The universe also is represented in many novels, published by Games Workshop’s Black Library, White Dwarf, the monthly magazine, and several licensed board games and video games. ULTRAMARINES: A WARHAMMER 40,000 MOVIE is the first feature-length movie interpretation of the property

"we march for makrak!" "and we shall know no fear!"
ummmm I may be an Iron Warrior... But its "Macragge" broseph
I have a question why is it that a large vessel like that has only few space marines on board?
That's a damn good point
They have such a huge vessel with little marines inside because when the original legions were separated the ultramarines separated the most into about 23 smaller chapters, causing their ranks to be thinly spread amongst individual chapters in contrast to their original size. This means that they have huge ships that used to house thousands of marines that only carry a handful now.
It is short, but good :) But the marines can quite easily climb on the cliffs faster then they can run, the voices are too quiet compared to the fire, so you must always change your music settings when the battle starts and ends.
But can someone say me, what actually happened with Severus? He was always a Deamon, he was possesed after killing that Deamon, or the Deamon won and took Severus's appearence and infiltrated the Marines?
Also, if he was "Captain", he was in charge of a Company, but in which time this is set? Because now there is one Captain Severus, but he is leader of 1st Company, previously of 2nd. And this one wasnt ever possesed.
well i think the daemon took the captains form after defeating him. im pretty sure it wasnt much of a challenge for the daemon since the captain only had a bolter and he threw his chain sword to proteus. or the captain died on impact.
i thought the daemon died and the captain mutated into a daemon prince, after he died?
The Daemon didnt kill the captain nor did it die. It performed a ritual in order to conceal itself within the flesh of the captain, thus being in control of the captain, so really the captain and the Daemon both died together, or the captain died when the Daemon shed its skin and revealed its true form.
This squad was send alone to be trained to fully join other Brother-Marines. The rest of the Company, 9 squads, were fighting with Tyrranids. And you know, Imperium always make huge things, especially the ships :D
i thank you for your answer.
second question isnt it the job of the apothecary to take the gene seed of the fallen battle brothers why didnt he take the seeds from the fallen Imperial Fists?
maybe there was no point
yeah i re watched it again and messed around with the audio the apothecary said the bodies were decade and there was nothing to save.
Nice, Megavideo freedom.
I dont like this film. it isnt bad, it can´t be bad because its W40k, but thats all, no film art. Like they dont have a scenario, as if it was written in that god damned book and then let a chaos to delete it, so they had to improvise and this is all they came up with.
But do not take this wrong, maybe i have expecting from that film too much.
I watched it on DVD and i found it to be very good, but it should have been longer. Too much was left out.
Kinda cheesy plot twists.
Thank you for linking the movie. It was a good watch. Even if some parts were predictable, it's not often we get to see a Warhammer 40k animated movie, considering they didn't do so well in the past.
This might be just a single step out of many for Games Workshop to allow for more Animations. Warhammer is too damn cool of a universe to have it be restricted. Computer Gaming has made a comeback thanks to Dawn of War, why not bring back animations?
On a side note, Terrence Stamp makes a pretty convincing Captain.
Pretty lousy movie, ok to watch if you are a fan of the universe. I prefer Damnatus over this.
Meh probably gonna suck.
Awesome movie.I really like it.
i was surprised someone told me it had tyranids in it as well - the liar
very nice !
i think u need better hardware for rendering !!!
we all wanna see more .... ;)
so much more !! ^^
greetz & keep on with the good work !
Nice video..the music seems to me from the game "chaos gate". Sry for my bad english (learned it in school 30 years ago). It is possible to see the video in fullscreen?
there is but iv forgoten where
nice movie would've been better if there were more of them
One problem in the text above the movie.... Warhammer 40K, even as Rogue Trader, has only been around for 24 years. Not over 30. Definitely not over 30.
Also, this movie....was surprisingly unfulfilling to watch, but the action scenes made it worth it.
I think it was rather good for a movie of its kind. And not just because of ZOMG SPESS MEHREENS. Certain parts were rather stupid, but it all seemed to work somehow. The writing was somewhat predictable, though, as most of Abnett's work tends to take a similar direction. But at least all the characters were decent...minus the ones nobody cared about.
I can say that someone who has no idea of what W40k is would probably think this is a terrible movie, however.
wow, this is liturally the whole movie..
nice first foray into film for 40k. i choose to forget the live action fails
one thing though. i always thought bolter rounds exploded. like small automatic RPGs.???
i think it depends thats what i always thought 2 but they do just most warhammer stuff leaves it out
after some research, in my old 3rd ed rulebook it says
"bolters fire self-propelled armour-piercing mass-reactive explosive missiles called bolts"
I think they explode inside the target
Because, the creators of the movie didn't have enough support/money to make the Bolters 'realistic'.
My expectations were too high. Disappointed that it was so short. So much more I wanted to see; I think the Space Marines are just way too cool. With all the brutality the books detail... ugh my fault for making assumptions.
Only* XD
