The original Red Orchestra was one of the greatest games of all time creating the most realistic combat seen in any game. Now with Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad, we hope to see the groundbreaking gameplay mechanics once again. I created this group so all the fans of RO can get hyped up together before release.
[ro2.fi] Team has been doing the preparations for December 6th. Finland celebrates today for its independency but we'll be announcing the making of Continuation War modification for Red Orchestra: Heroes of Stalingrad.

Through Red Orchestra's existence there's been popular demand for this. Yet none has volunteered to take up on the task. Well, it's about time someone does. Yes, we at ro2.fi are making it. December 6th is Finland's Independence Day but it's also a day, when in 1941 Great Britain declared war against Finland when the most intense battles were going on at the...
Karelian Front - Continuation War Modification for Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad!
Continuation War was fought between Finland and the Soviet Union in '41-'44. The war ended in Finland's defeat. Our goal is to create a historically accurate total conversion modification for RO2, without forgetting the fun gameplay. The team behind the mod is so far Finnish with varying modding experience: some working in the gaming industry, some have done mods before in RO and for other games, and some are totally green. Good mix of people, eager to stop the long lasting outcry for this mod.
Why did we choose Continuation War over maybe a better known Winter War? So it wouldn't be just 24/7 winter maps and to have more variation in the battles. Leaves us more options to choose from. This front saw also fair share of guerilla tactics so it leaves us room to develope something new, perhaps. Fight in the fields of Karelian Isthmus, forests of Ladoga and swamps of East Karelia! You can study the history behind the real events that took place in 1941-1944. Also, our history department will be providing the community a historical article every month, focusing on 3 subjects; - events and battles - weapons, gear and vehicles - characters of war. You can post a request about a subject to cover or ask questions and discuss history at the Historical Discussion -section of the forums.
(Notice, this isn't full list of everything - just some to arouse appetite)
At the moment we've got about a-20-men-team behind the mod and we're still recruiting for all the areas. If you want to help out, you can read more about applying HERE. If you want to throw out ideas, discuss or give us feedback, drop a line at www.karelianfront.com/forum. We listen the community concerns.
Don't expect us to finish among the first. Let's play other mods like Rising Storm, In Country: Vietnam and Iron Europe first. Maybe after that is our turn... ;)
