there is a new stargate indie game called Stargate - Gates of Atlantis

Posted by [$#!T-Happens] on Sep 10th, 2008

here's a quick overview of the new indie game

Stargate - Gates of Atlantis is a First Person Shooter Stand-Alone-Game that's being developed by fans of the TV Series Stargate Atlantis by Metro Goldwin Mayer for fans. So it is an inofficial game, not an official product of Stargate Atlantis or MGM. It is neither connected to MGM, to the TV Series nor to the official game Stargate Worlds in any other way than being based upon these characters, technologies, etc. that MGM created in the Stargate universe.

This game is being developed on the FPSC-Engine, a powerful tool to create FPS-Games quickly, detailed and user friendly. It uses DirectX 9.0c models and environment.

The possibility to import static Google Sketchup 3D Models gives this game a strong push forward. 3D models from the gallery, used with permission, give this game a great atmosphere and community feeling as it allows anyone to be part of this game who wants to.
