The 6th gen is the 128-bit era, this is the time of the ps2, xbox, game cube and sega dreamcast, there was apperintly another console called the XaviXPort but i never heard of it. This era ended arounf 2005 when the xbox 360 came out.

Since, owned by America Online has long struggled financially and for around a week ago, the employees finally informed that their workplace be closed down. This happens at a time when American gaming sites are in a tough economic time. Recently got Greg Tito in The Escapist also told that his services were not needed anymore.

Joystiq was started in 2004 and experienced great popularity the following years, but had to accept that AOL no longer so they like a good financial investment.

What was Joystiq stance on Gamergate? If they were against it (Which I would guess they were, all of the media is, apparently.), do you guys think it had something to do with it?

They were, though TotalBiscuit found some value in them so take that for what it's worth. Gaming sites are the last thing I ever look at so I couldn't really care less. Much like AAA games, there isn't much worth in gaming "journalism." Even less so now, after they burnt their own flock at the stake.

I was/am struggling to understand what Gamersgate was all about? One group seemed to be smooching up to another group and questions of impartially in gaming journalism was in question or something like that?
