Ubisoft has announced that TrackMania turbo will include virtual reality support for the Oculus Rift and PlayStation VR, once both headsets are available. To accompany this announcement, the publisher has released a 360-degree trailer featuring one of the new Valley environment tracks.
Such a fast-paced racer is an interesting option to build in VR support for. With tracks that regularly defy gravity, seeing racers zoom up walls and around loop-de-loops, will the game's speed and constant orientation changes cause motion sickness? And will VR feel natural with the game's third-person camera? Though Ubisoft says VR support will extend to every track and game mode, it's unclear if that includes the track editor as well - so will you be able to build new tracks in virtual reality?
TrackMania Turbo will launch on March 22 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One - just time enough for the launch of the Oculus Rift consumer headset in April, and the PlayStation VR later this year.
